Bottle at Delirium Cafe, for a mere 25€. Ouch. I was thinking I’d be seeing this beer all over the country as it was just released, but after 4 days in Belgium and 4 bottle shops, this is the only time I’ve seen it, so I’m glad I jumped on it. Very lactic, milky and strong raspberry aroma. A touch of grass, good cherry, but the raspberry is compeltely and utterly dominant, more like one of the sweet ones. No head. Less milk in the palate. Raspberry is still strong, but there is not enough carbonation and the sourness is a bit lacking. Fruit is completely dominant all around but the base lambic is quite disappointing. I think this needs another couple years to sour up and for the raspberry to come into check. I’ve got another bottle to bring home, so we’ll see. 7/3/7/4/3.7

update: I’ve had this twice since the original rating and it has gotten better and better every time. My last experience with the beer was sublime. Still, more time will make this even better.

Thanks to ybg.... for this rarity. Pours a dark red maroonish with little bubbles around the edge acting as a head. Nose is vinous raspberry and cherry quite sour. Flavor is potent sour raspberries. Little chocolate mixes in adding to the flavor. Overall a little bland for what I came to expect.

[Odense-tasting at Scheffel. Bottle from Christian.] A beer of high quality, indeed. Heavy grapenotes in a good mix of krieks and frambozen. Wood, soil, complex, oak, medium sourness, acidity and a great carbonation.

Bottled. Pours out in a hazy reddish oale colour with a low pink head. Strong acidic and fruity aroma of cherries, wood, wild raspberries, mild grapefruit, and fay. Dryish, acidic and fruity flavour of blackberries, cherries, wood and bretts. Long acidic and sourish finish of cherries, hay and wood. Damn nice!

Light hazy reddish colour with a pinkish head. Fruity, yeasty aroma with notes of leather and dust. Fruity, tart flavor with notes of yeast. Dusty dry finish with notes of leather.

Bottle @ Beer Circus. Bright red in colour with no head whatsoever. Nose is cherry / sour / with a bit of funk thrown in too. Taste is dominated by cherries but there is some yeast / its sharp with acidic finish. Very drinkable and nice Lambic.

I’ll quote Devon’s name for the tasting as "Drewbeerme is back and is a badass for sharing so many awesome Belgium beers" tasting with xnoxhatex and me. So this is the big one. Wow. 750ml, bottle dated 2/14/07. Pours a red raspberry color with pink highlights in the white head. Sour notes in the nose blend with the raspberry/cherries and a earthy funkiness quite nicely. The tart and earthy cherries and raspberries are the first flavors that come out. Surrounding this are the lactic oaky and sugar sweetness that meld to a beautiful symphony on my tongue. This is a great beer and on top of that I got to drink it out of my very own DrieF glass. Cheers andrew thanks!

Nose is of cherry, sourness and yeast. Tatse s of yeast, cherries with a sweet butery taste. I didn’t like this one.
