3 Fonteinen Hommage

Bottled. An unclear red beer with a lazing pink head. The aroma is acidic with strong notes of raspberries as well as some wood - quite complex. The flavor is also acidic with strong notes of raspberries as well as other fruits.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a slightly cloudy, warm reddish with a neat, pinkish head. Complex and extraordinary fruitiness in the aroma. Medium body with a very sharp acidity, very fresh berry notes and some weird mineral touches. No, this is actually salty! Very sharply acidic all through the finish. I find this quite interesting as it is, but I believe I will find it even more pleasant and mellow after some years. If only that weird salinity would go away. 280907

Bottled at RBESG ’07. Deep cloudy red, brief pink head. Fresh aroma of ripe raspberries. Dry and tart with a fruity citric acidity that keep growing. Fruit hides the barnyard, the berry flavour is aoft and mouthfilling and the mouthfeel gently sparkling. Great beer, but I’m not sure it’s one of my favourites from Drie Fonteinen.

75 cL bottle, thanks to Ungstrup. Pours red with no head. Aroma is sulphorish and raspberry citric aroma with an underlying woody note. Flavour is quite sharp, berry (and beyond raspberry) and strong acidic flavours. This is utterly great.

Bottle @ GBBF 2007, London. Hazy light to medium red color with virtually none, fair lacing, off-white, head. Aroma is moderate berry, (raspberry). Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration. Dry finish. ;o)) Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Bottled. Muddy red colour with small head. Aroma is raspberries, sourness and slight mild acidicness. Flavour is really sour and dry raspberries. Already quite promising, so it would be nice to see what a bottle will be in some years.

Bottle at EBF08. Good citric fruit, berry aroma. Deep red colour. The flavour is citric but mild, rounded off by the fruit. Very nice. 9 3 9 4 19

Bottle at LCRBM08. Good citric aroma. Good citric flavour, some fruit. Cloudy dark red colour. Hint of funk, but still good. Very citric. 8 3 8 3 18

Bottle. Hazy red coloured with an off white head. Light acidic aroma of wood and berries. Light acidic flavour of wood, raspberries, marzipan, cherries, and cherry stones. Tart finish.
