Bottle shared by my son Enniskillen from Bottleworks; Nose is horseblanket and sour cherries cloudy raspberry colored with a nice pink head; flavor is very tart with nice cherries; nicely funky without completely overshadowing the cherries; excellently balanced!

750ml Bottle: Sour, acidic aroma of raspberries, and a little bit of chemicals. Poured dark red (raspberry red or blood red) in color with a medium-sized pink head that diminished rather quickly. Opaque. Cloudy. Flavor is medium sweet, lightly sour, and very acidic. Tastes of raspberries, oak, and a little bit of cherries. Medium body. Tingly texture. Lively carbonation. Raspberry and acid finish. Good, but not sure why it cost me $38 for the bottle.

Many thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - cloudy pinkish purple, nearly headless - funky, cheesy, earthy, horseblanket aroma, with notes of moldy fruit skins - bone dry with medium sourness and acidity - very funky, blue cheese kind of flavor - not very apparent fruit, but it sure is in there (mostly pits and skins, but very subdued) - mostly gueuze-like with light fruit - very nice indeed.

Bottle while in San Diego on 08/01/2008 for the RBSG Friday Pub Crawl. Slightly hazy red body with a small pink head. Sour, cherry aroma with some funk aroma. Very sour cherry flavor, hints of raspberry. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe, for a mere 25€. Ouch. I was thinking I’d be seeing this beer all over the country as it was just released, but after 4 days in Belgium and 4 bottle shops, this is the only time I’ve seen it, so I’m glad I jumped on it. Very lactic, milky and strong raspberry aroma. A touch of grass, good cherry, but the raspberry is compeltely and utterly dominant, more like one of the sweet ones. No head. Less milk in the palate. Raspberry is still strong, but there is not enough carbonation and the sourness is a bit lacking. Fruit is completely dominant all around but the base lambic is quite disappointing. I think this needs another couple years to sour up and for the raspberry to come into check. I’ve got another bottle to bring home, so we’ll see. 7/3/7/4/3.7

update: I’ve had this twice since the original rating and it has gotten better and better every time. My last experience with the beer was sublime. Still, more time will make this even better.

Bottle: (Thanks ygtbsm94!) Pours a deep hazy red with a pinkish head. The aroma is both fruity and funky/sweet and tart with tart raspberry, sweeter notes of cherry (almond-like) notes along with a crisp earthy acidity, barnyard/horse blanket, brie cheese funk and leather. Has a medium acidity on the palate. Flavor is very tart/almost sour. Acidic raspberry skin character is evident, followed by a subtle sweet note from the cherry which is marzipan-like. Then lots of funk come out with cork, leather, mild salty notes, barnyard and residual acetic flavors. Has a mineral-y note into the bone dry finish. Very well integrated fruit notes; this is great stuff.

[1461-20080531] 750mL bottle. Tart raspberry aroma has lots of wood barrel sourness. Murky, dark red brown body with a medium-lasting foamy light pink head. Sour cherry flavour has some raspberry tartness a bit of pleasant dry acidity. Medium body is sour. Wonderful beverage, lovely balance, perfect state of sourness.

Bottle: The aroma consists of musty raspberries, moderate woodiness, and mild tartness. It pours a transparent reddish-orange and a small pink head. The flavor starts with a quick sweet raspberries. The flavor turns to moderately tart raspberry in the finish with some faint woodiness. The woodiness lingers in the aftertaste. Light-medium bodied with somewhat lively carbonation.
