| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 3, 2008 Deep red in colour with just a bit of brown thrown in, very thin white coloured head that left no lacing. The aroma is of light cherries, lots of tart raspberries, lightly acidic, some oak, sour. The flavour is very tart to start, dries out then gets a bit sweet, lots of tart raspberries throughout this, sour, some grapes. Tart mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long with some sweetness but then the tart raspberries take over.
A wonderful fruit lambic. Great sourness and tartness throughout this. I see this one aging very well.

The aroma was sour fruit of cherries and raspberries. The taste was soft sour fruit with a bit acid and malt. I’m not at all a lambic fan, but I am sure I could have drank a whole bottle of this! | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Updated: Dec 13, 20098/2/08: aroma was fantastically funky and fruity...color was blood orange and hazy. flavors were grittily fruity but not sour or funky enough. carbonation on the low side. good shit though, but could be spritzier and funkier in flavor. 10.5.8.4.16
Re-Rate: 12/13/09: Nose is just outrageously funky..loads of bandage, stepped on raspberries, vanilla, Flavors this time had a lot of the funky bandage notes that apparently the first bottle did not have. Lots of wood and vanilla..but funky too. This really has a unique funky character with sweet soft vanilla bringing above what you’d expect. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 13, 2008 Bottle thanks to Jbrus: Pours a hazy red in color with a pinkish white head. Aroma, lots of raspberries up front, tart and funky, some sour cherry notes, lemon, amazing. Flavor, tart and funky, strong raspberry notes, don’t get much cherry maybe just the added tartness on the finish, some acidity but not overly sour. This was excellent. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a dense cranberry color with a very light thin head. Smell is funky, tart, cherries, and oak. Flavor is lightly funky, tart cherries and vinegar with a medium body. I got more cherry than raspberry from it. Pretty good and nicely sour. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 28, 2008 750 ml bottle. Lots of sour funk in this beer. Flavors and aromas of cherry. Very tasty. Acidic in the finish with more sour and tartness to tickle the palate. Good Stuff AmEricanbrew (1946), orange, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 25, 2008 Orange/red color with a fleeting white head. Huge seedy woody aroma with barnyard and fresh raspberries. Light/medium body. Flavor starts dry and tart with raspberry seed, wood with citrusy lemon and dry hay; nicely complex with a fairly strong acididty throughout. Another fantastic 3 Fonts brew. As for the big price, i’m just glad to have had the chance to try this without jetting to Belgium or giving up half my cellar stash.... tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2009 750 mL bottle, courtesy of ygtbsm94, dated 2-14-2007. Pours a pinkish red-orange with slight pinkish head. The aroma has a whole lot going on--raspberry, lavender, leather, cheese, oak, cherry (noticeable only after it breathes for a while), brett, lemon, and witch hazel. The flavor is a nice, creamy cheesiness with a very assertive sourness under it. The raspberry is rather evident, but I have to struggle to pick up any cherry. There is plenty of oak and general woodiness, as well as a bit of zesty character. Toward the finish is a nice, farmy brett character and a dry, waxy honeycomb (stole the descriptor from NachlamSie) note that I find rather fascinating. Quite a good beer.
