Strong aroma, Morello cherries, raspberries (well mature), then the classic cellar touch; some plastic too; everlasting aroma. Medium sourness, astringent mouthfeel, with a mix of every citrus fruit, lemon and grapefruit winning on the others for the sourness, somehow a very light sweetness too; fruity (mainly raspberries and pink grapefruit) and balanced, perfect. Long final, with a touch of woody astringency too. Great. KimJohansen (7303), Copenhagen V, Denmark

The sour tarty aroma has raspberries, wood, earth and grapefruit. Flavor is lovely sour with raspberries, cherries, wood and the rest of the typical brett notes. Nice and tarty. Very deliciuos and refreshing. Love it! harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2009 75cl bottle from GBBF 2007 and kept for over 2 years, the bottles with no label. Isn’t it so good to have a beer that lives up to the hype? The aroma is perfect. So much raspberry fruit, it’s stunning. Brilliant clear red orange colour, with disappearing slight pink head. Raspberry, cherry and a touch of funk. Lovely in mouth, smooth, bit too carbonated, so I had to do a bit of decanting to get rid of the bubbles, but then this swallow of pippy raspberry and sourness starts and lingers into one of the best finish of a beer I’ve had. So easily a 10 for aroma, a five for appearance. The flavour amazing, just maybe too much verging on the vinegar. The sourness is excellent with just that touch of funk. The finish is unbelievable, but as I say, just that touch of vinegar takes the edge off. bierkoning (6112), La Tropica, Netherlands

Oak and almonds with raspberry shimmering through in the aroma. Very complex flavor. Raspberry, lime, cherry pits, almond, oak, honey, some smokey notes even. Absolutely dry with a firm, but not outrageous sourness. Medium bodied. Raspberry, dust and cherry pits in the aftertaste. Great beer, but IMO not the very best 3F can offer.
@ the LCRBM 2008 a sample showed that this beer has matured very well.

The colour is typical 3 Fonteinen. Very fruity aroma with plenty of raspberry obviously but there is also strawberry and cherry and just a lick of 3F sourness. It’s both earthy and fresh at the same time. Flavour is even more special. Wonderfully tart with amazing complex fruity sourness. So many different fruit flavours emerge it is hard to do it justice. Strong citric notes, lemon, orange, kiwi, lime, then completely flooded by strawberry, cherry and a punch of puckering raspberries. It’s like eating a whole pack of Jolly Ranchers at once and it just keeps going and going right the way through to an amazingly lengthy finish. Beautiful sweetness of the likes rarely witnessed but held perfectly in balance by the sourness. I could go on for days. Palate is certainly one of the best I have experienced. On top of all this, it still feels young. 100% certainty to be a future classic. thewolf (5837), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Bottle @ ChristianScheffel tasting. [thank you ChristianScheffel] Pours a very deep red with an okay, creamy pinkish head. Aroma is sweet at first with a quite malty backbone, on top there is slight fruityness and lots of funkyness. Some wood peeps through as well. Flavour is extremely well-rounded, sour, sweet, cherries, raspberries, tartness, sourness - really well mixed.
