HogTownHarrys bottle, shared with great gusto with Harry and Blankboy. App: Cherry red, zero head, no visible carbonation. Aroma: SEXY! In fact, I had to censor this rating a little as I got a bit excited (I referred to hookers turned into ladies a la ’Pretty Woman’) Anyhow: Flavour: Sour cherry, bitter and sweet, like drinking a cherry cola whilst on LSD - simply superb.

One of the many, "Drewbeerme is back and is a badass for sharing so many awesome Belgium (and... uh hem... German) beers" tasting with Holdenn and me. Murky dark red with small pink head, oh it looks good. Sour geuze aroma dominates, with a secondary aroma of raspberries. Dirty raspberry flavor, earthy, sour sweet, quite delicous. Thin, tangy body. Oh so good, raspberry is dangerously strong.

Green bottle, 75 cl, bottled on 14/02/2007, via Importations Privées Bièropholie (merci Hughes!) eye: cherry, clear, minimal effervescence, slightly pink head that disappears completely, no lacing; nose: lots of horse, Brettanomyces yeast, fruity; mouth: lots of horse, sour Brettanomyces yeast, fruity, finale in horse with light fruity presence, rather carbonated, quite sour, lightly sweet and acidic, medium body; overall: ordinary FRANÇAIS Bouteille verte, 75 cl, embouteillée le 14/02/2007, via Importations Privées Bièropholie (merci Hughes!) œil : cerise, claire, effervescence minime, mousse légèrement rosée qui disparaît presque complètement, pas de dentelle; nez : beaucoup de cheval, levure Brettanomyces, fruité; bouche : beaucoup de cheval, aigre, levure Brettanomyces, fruité, finale en cheval avec légère présence de fruité, plutôt carbonatée, très aigre, légèrement sucrée et acide, corps moyen; en résumé : ordinaire

From a 750mL Bottle, Feb. 2007. Generously shared by wetherel. Thanks, John! Pours a hazy, pinkish ruby color with a thin, even layer of creamy off-white head. The body has a brilliant, pectin-like even consistency that practically glows with raspberry coloring. Big fruity nose with a restrained, yet freshening acidity. Loads of fresh raspberries that have a young, almost borderline under-ripe character that’s complimented nicely by a dry, herbal raspberry seed character. Didn’t pick up much wood or excessive funk in the nose, but the berries were backed by an underlying acidity that suggested a squeeze of fresh lemon. Light bodied with a spritzy carbonation, crisp acidity, and wonderfully dry mouthfeel. Fresh raspberry flavors hop out on the tongue right away with a balancing dose of seedy bitterness. A pleasant floral character emerges on the tongue with a cleansing sour acidity. Didn’t really pick up on the cherry characters, and the wood presence was also restrained, but the sour level was definitely on par with expectation. A touch of solvent-like character crept up in the final smack, but didn’t really detract. Delicious.

March Houston Tasting. Thanks to MaltOMeal for his bottle. Pours a bright red color with no head. Nose of cherries, raspberries and tartness. Flavor is sour, tart cherries. Efferficent and clean...very tasty.

Thanks Sliffy. Nice sour cherry aroma, not over the top, but balanced nicely with a hint of oak. Red body with a thin head. The palate is spot on with perfect carbonation. Perfect sourness level in the taste. Mostly cherries for me, even though there are more raspberries in this. Hard to find many faults with this brew.

Bottle shared by Sparky27 @ the Black Friday tasting...ERIC ROCKS!!! Another one I never thought I’d get a chance to try. Golden garnet pour with a white film floating atop the body and a ring circling the glass. The aroma is pungent raspberry, tart cherry skin, lemon rind, and light barnyard. This was a really enjoyable sour...not jaw-locking, lip-puckering, or eye-watering...rather drinkable, satisfying, and memorable. Flavor shows freshly picked, slighly green raspberry, cheese, and balsamic vinegar. Really tasty and glad to have had a change to sample!!! THANKS AGAIN ERIC!!!
