Hazy reddish-orange with a thin pink head. Fantastic sour raspberry and lambic nose. Very tasty with lots of real raspberry flavour, well balanced sweet and sour ratio (for me anyway as I prefer sour) Dry and quite fizzy with a looooong finish. Can’t wait till it gains some age and due to my lack of patience it’s a good thing I brought 2 bottles home.
It’s about time I re-vamped this rate, theres so much more to this than I noted in my drunken GBBF stupor. Pours an opaque blood red, slightly orange around the edges where the light penetrates. The nose is sherbert raspberries, juicy cherries and strawberries with yeast and hay notes. Taste is yeasty and tart with so many fruit flavours, all the berries aforementioned and also, lime, kiwi and lemon. I can liken it to several things, raspberry lemonade, sour cherry candy and berry sorbet just to name a few. The finish is dry, so long and tasty you just want to smack your mouth and enjoy for a while. Even though it had only been a couple of months there was definitely some change, it’s gonna be really interesting to see what some real age may yield. I’m so glad I’ve managed to pick up a few more bottles as I knew those two wouldn’t last... weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

BB 14/02/2007.
Appears a murky red with a pinkish, white head that slowly fades out. Scattered streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of raspberries, tart gooseberries, farmland, dusty barnyard, and light vanilla.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with funky plastic, rubber, grape leaves, bugs(bacteria fermentation), raspberries, and apples.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sour, with phenols of funky plastic, and exotic plants. JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium

Extreme initial tartness has mellowed to reveal an amazing drink, an outstanding aperitif of sumptious fruit. 75 cL bottle pours a deep maroon-red, pinkish-white head fades fast. Huge nose of raspberry--real, fresh raspberry--with notes of lemon and bits of old goat cheese (wish I had some to pair). Incredibly juicy flavor, Intense but reasonable fruity tartness, with a wave of dryness bubbling out of the champagne-like mouthfeel. That real fruit reigns throughout. danielcurtis81 (909), San Diego, California, USA

Served from a 750 mL bottle dated 2/14/07. Thanks to Andy for sharing this one. Appearance is a rich raspberry red with some dying bubbles. The aromas are sour wild yeasts and creamy raspberry. The oak flavors are mild and nice. They are followed with a solid tart raspberry. Mouth is really full of effervesces. A solid brew that I was glad to get to try.

Nose was huge rubber, michelin, burning, funky as hell, autolysis, apple skin, sour grapes, raspberry, loads of acidity. Flavor was an overwhelming rubber flavor, loads of rediculous funk, cheesy, horsey, the whole 9 yards. The rubber was tough to get past. nolankowal (854), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2008 [Bottle, thanks Hellomynameis!] Pours hazy red with a tiny small pink head. Aroma is really really funky and sour with some cherry and a good deal of yeast too. Taste is quite sour with the funkiness once again strongly evident and some cherry. Medium thick mouthfeel with a bit of a dry finish. A nice lambic, but aside from being really funky, it really didn’t set itself apart. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a deep pink color with a thin, fizzy pink head. Aroma of tart, sour cherries and some berry, but not in the most appealing way. Some yeast also. Flavor is pretty tart with strong flavors of raspberry and sour cherry, some barnyard funk, and a light yeastiness on the finish. Crisp and moderately dry. Pretty nice beer.
