Bottled at RBESG ’07. Deep cloudy red, brief pink head. Fresh aroma of ripe raspberries. Dry and tart with a fruity citric acidity that keep growing. Fruit hides the barnyard, the berry flavour is aoft and mouthfilling and the mouthfeel gently sparkling. Great beer, but I’m not sure it’s one of my favourites from Drie Fonteinen.

Deep red in colour with just a bit of brown thrown in, very thin white coloured head that left no lacing. The aroma is of light cherries, lots of tart raspberries, lightly acidic, some oak, sour. The flavour is very tart to start, dries out then gets a bit sweet, lots of tart raspberries throughout this, sour, some grapes. Tart mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long with some sweetness but then the tart raspberries take over.

A wonderful fruit lambic. Great sourness and tartness throughout this. I see this one aging very well.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with henrikb, thanks Henrik.

Bottle at tasting at Chris Fischer’s (from Liars Club) house. Pours with a ruby red body topped by a medium thick to thick head with some lacing. It’s tart and sour with a nice funk and notes of raspberry. Light bodied, crisp and smooth.

Many thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - cloudy pinkish purple, nearly headless - funky, cheesy, earthy, horseblanket aroma, with notes of moldy fruit skins - bone dry with medium sourness and acidity - very funky, blue cheese kind of flavor - not very apparent fruit, but it sure is in there (mostly pits and skins, but very subdued) - mostly gueuze-like with light fruit - very nice indeed.

Bottle courtesy of rudolf: Magenta colored body topped by a thin white head. Great aroma that is full of raspberries, dusty earthiness and barnyard notes. Nicely balanced sourness. Bright raspberry flavors with just a touch of sweetness and faint oak flavors. Excellent.

Muddy red with a small white head. Berry aroma, slightly perfumed, and definitely raspberry. Also some malt, and some brett although strangely subdued. Very tart and dry, refreshing. Some raspberry acid. The cherry addition actually shows up in the aftertaste.

Bottle, from the BSF at the GBBF. An unclear but shiny cherry red, rough off-white head that settles away quickly. First layer of aroma is heavily wool; lemon, dandelions and pepper follow, then a prickly dry earthiness. It’s not until several sniffs in that the berries register. But then there they are, in a really interesting way. To my nose, its half the leather- tart underipe spring berries, half the noble rot berries of late season. Lovely mouthfiling lemon sourness, filled out with earth and leather. The raspberry character is here too, but a bit coy amid all the other flavors. There is a softness to the palate and a flavor that seems to suggest fruit, without actually being fruity. (If that makes any sense at all.) This is a delicously brash youngster. I can’t help but wondering what a few years will do...
