How: Montreal-crew sour-beer tasting. Bottle from Goldorak. Fresh, drank a few months after it came out.
The look: Cloudy red body with almost no head
In long: Very fruity beer. Raspberries of course but also quite a bit of cherries. A little spicy on the tongue (thyme and cinnamon) but just a little. Lambic part of the beer keeps a low profile behind the mountain of fruits. A little more funkyness and acidity would have been great. Maybe time will balance it off a bit. Carbonation is very soft, maybe a bit too much so. Compared to its predecessor (3F Framboos) the Hommage is softer, juicier, less funky and a lot less aggressive. As it stands I also prefer the Cantillon Rosé de Gambrinus over the Hommage. I’ll give it a year or two and see what happens. Don’t get me wrong the beer is good, very good. Still I was a little disappointed but only because the original Framboos was so great. That’s unfortunate but my expectations were as high the dudes in the three first rows of a Grateful Dead concert. kramer (2472), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 7, 2008 25 oz bottle, via papsoe I think. Pours a ruddy red body with a minimal head that vanished quickly. Nice funky nose with lots of cherry skins and pits, and ripe raspberries. Light brett, and lots of funky musty cellar notes. Lots of fresh ripe raspberry and cellar funkiness with zero residual sugars. Tart, but not overpoweringly sour, I think that there is some room for development in that area. The mouthfeel is dry and crisp with a nice lingering tart finish. Overall, quite good, I look forward to the chance to sit down with a whole bottle of this and really get to know it. bierkoning (6082), La Tropica, Netherlands

Oak and almonds with raspberry shimmering through in the aroma. Very complex flavor. Raspberry, lime, cherry pits, almond, oak, honey, some smokey notes even. Absolutely dry with a firm, but not outrageous sourness. Medium bodied. Raspberry, dust and cherry pits in the aftertaste. Great beer, but IMO not the very best 3F can offer.
@ the LCRBM 2008 a sample showed that this beer has matured very well.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2008 Pours hazy deep magenta (not ruby) with pink head. Nose is nice; freshly picked raspberries, oaky woody notes, funky yeasty notes, and some root cellary hints. Tastes tart, but well balanced, and not a mouth puckering tartness. The tartness here seems to go with the raspberries, making it much more tolerable and less harsh than some lambics I’ve had. The raspberries taste natural (as they should), and this one is very good from start to finish. Sammy (4038), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Smells funky, alcohol though low, penetrates the nose. Great mouthfeel, raspberries lambic bullseyes the style. Satisfying aftertaste. Oh so drinkable. ruggedman (626), Portland, Maine, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Bottle at Novare Res. Pours a cloudy reddish tan with a little white pinkish head. Aroma is fruits and leather. Flavor is what this baby brings to the table though. It’s got a initial bite of sweet and sourness from the yeast and fruit and has almost a fig-like flavor in malt backbone. Not an overwhelming yeast at all though, very mild mannered for a lambic...or maybe i’ve just had too many :-P Unlike most raspberry dominated lambics this one has a flavor of overripened fruits rather than unripe ones. This is a strange and unique one, a must have for sure.
