Head is initially small, fizzy, pink, fully diminishing.
Body is hazy medium reddish-purple, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately yeasty (horseblanket, barnyard, cobwebs), with notes of raspberry and cherry, light notes of band-aid, sour apple, and wood.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately to heavily acidic, lightly bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation.
I rarely say this, but that’s because I rarely believe it’s true: this will probably benefit greatly from another couple of years in the bottle. Although the aroma is very enticing and vibrant, it’s pretty fruit-forward right now, as with young wine (and priced like the latter as well, at least in the States...$35 a bottle here in Colorado). I would also ideally want a smidge less sweetness and a smidge more tartness. These are nits...it’s great stuff as-is to be sure. And given a few years for the fruits to fade a bit and some aged characters to take their place, I have little doubt that it will gain more depth and breadth. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Bottle. Hazy orange brown with a small head. Aromas are musty and sour. Barnyard with vanilla. Woody with astringent vinegar. Flavours are sour, acidic lemon juice and vinegar. Some raspberry sweetness. Addictive. michael-pollack (2718), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2008 750ml Bottle: Sour, acidic aroma of raspberries, and a little bit of chemicals. Poured dark red (raspberry red or blood red) in color with a medium-sized pink head that diminished rather quickly. Opaque. Cloudy. Flavor is medium sweet, lightly sour, and very acidic. Tastes of raspberries, oak, and a little bit of cherries. Medium body. Tingly texture. Lively carbonation. Raspberry and acid finish. Good, but not sure why it cost me $38 for the bottle. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

Aroma is full of raspberry with some wood. Lightly bitter, heavily sour initial flavour. Moderately sour finish. Quite nice with an ok complexity. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Beautiful dark red body with a light pink head. The aroma is massive raspberries with some hay. There are also some leathery notes. The taste is very tart with some light raspberries behind it. There is also some leathery goodness behind that. A light clean body, this is not as overwhelming as I would have expected. Very nicely made with a dry finish. Ungstrup (15343), Frederiksberg, Denmark
