reakt (855), Greater London, England Aug 8, 2007 Updated: Jan 16, 2008 New batch @ GBBF, the sole reason I attended. The epitome of framboise, a bit young as far as lambics go but none the less amazing still. Hazy reddish-orange with a thin pink head. Fantastic sour raspberry and lambic nose. Very tasty with lots of real raspberry flavour, well balanced sweet and sour ratio (for me anyway as I prefer sour) Dry and quite fizzy with a looooong finish. Can’t wait till it gains some age and due to my lack of patience it’s a good thing I brought 2 bottles home.

It’s about time I re-vamped this rate, theres so much more to this than I noted in my drunken GBBF stupor.
Pours an opaque blood red, slightly orange around the edges where the light penetrates. The nose is sherbert raspberries, juicy cherries and strawberries with yeast and hay notes. Taste is yeasty and tart with so many fruit flavours, all the berries aforementioned and also, lime, kiwi and lemon. I can liken it to several things, raspberry lemonade, sour cherry candy and berry sorbet just to name a few. The finish is dry, so long and tasty you just want to smack your mouth and enjoy for a while. Even though it had only been a couple of months there was definitely some change, it’s gonna be really interesting to see what some real age may yield. I’m so glad I’ve managed to pick up a few more bottles as I knew those two wouldn’t last...
DMRz (151), Durham, North Carolina, USA Nov 27, 2008 750ml bottle. Bright, pink-red colour with a medium white head that vanishes quickly-this looks like desert in a glass. Intense fresh red raspberry aroma with notes of sour cherries, barnyard, and a nice hint of oak. The flavor of this beer is a tour de force of balance and intensity: sweet red raspberries, sour cherries, and barnyard funk. The finish is sour and well controlled, leaving a pleasant sour cherry aftertaste that complements the initial sweetness. I would love to try this again after a couple of years in the cellar. A world class beer! theisti (1166), Leawood, Kansas, USA Nov 19, 2008 750 ml bottle purchased in May at Capones outside of Philly. Pour is mostly clear ruby, red brown with a pinkish white 1 inch head that falls really fast. Aroma of acidic waxiness, barnyardy yeastiness, and some raspberry fruitiness. Taste is tart and sour, very acidic. Calms down after the initial taste, revealing raspberry fruit and some menthol. Palate is medium, though a bit slick - coats the mouth nicely. Drying yeasty finish. Balances out nicely, while still maintaining a sharp sour bite. SHIG (1667), Oberoffligen, Germany Oct 28, 2008 Bottle @ LCRBM 08: Poured a pinkish red with a pink-white head. The aroma was sour fruit of cherries and raspberries. The taste was soft sour fruit with a bit acid and malt. I’m not at all a lambic fan, but I am sure I could have drank a whole bottle of this! djtimeless (56), Florida, USA Oct 26, 2008 Pours out redish with huge pink head, which rapidly dimnished. Smells fruity. Taste is tart with the raspberries shining through. Great sour finish. Funky and dry with a little acid. Fin (2451), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 26, 2008 Bottle, Many thanks to Cgarvieuk aka Craig forgiving me this beer Pours the colour of a sightly watered down blood topped off by a rapidly dimnishing pink head. Sour and tart aroma with berries noticeable, Loz picked out the cherries as well I’m afraid I couldn’t detect them. Refreshing zippy tartness in the mouth lovely sourness, nice carbonation, at times the sweetness that comes through (only a little) tastes a little strawberry like. Nice softness round the edges to this, I’m drinking a 750ml bottle to myself and its quite moreish.
