Well, I guess it’s time to rate this beer. First of all, thanks to Chris for sharing both the Blauw and the Roze, what an awesome experience. Pours a slightly hazy bright orange-amber color with a very effervescent head (more so than the Roze). This beer is forward in both the funky aroma and the appearance. Aroma is citrusy, peppery, with hints of herbal grassyness. Flavor is very acidic and bright. Dark citrus astringency with a prickly dry finish. Finish is tight and tart.

Bottle shared by pepsican. Thanks! Poured a hazy medium orange color with a white head. Smelled of old couch, light vinegar, lemon, and a hint of funky cheese. Light bodied and effervescent with a decent dose of mouth-puckering acidity. The flavor included the likes of pale malt, dusty white wine, citrus, and vinegar. Nice.

Huge thanks to papsoe on this one. Murky amber pour with a nice sized white head. Oaky, dusty, leather aroma. Oh man. Zesty lemon, oak, leather, dust, and funk in the flavor. Tart finish with plenty of carbonation. This one was much more mild in the flavor than in the aroma which was very nice. Man oh man was this good.

Thanks to Brad (YGTBSM94). Very sharp and balaced gueeze. Dominate oak surrounds all characters of the beer. With the barrel there is a heavy dryness, tangy fruit, spicy elements, and yeast settling. Incredible high drinkability on the apple and lemon fruit with the dark yellow body.

Bottle shared at Cleveland tasting on 8-23-08. Thanks!! Bottle pours cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of earth, lemon, tartness, and wood vinegar come to mind. Has a medium body with a lot of carbonation. Taste is very clean and crisp with lemon, more tart flavors and puckering than the roze I just tried, some oak, and some yeasty overtones. Has a smooth finish. Overall this is a wonderful beer that I would highly recommend. Easily a world class brew.

RBSG 2008. Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Dry acidic nose, hints of cheese, apple, and dusty barn. Very well balanced with a mellow sourness and acidity.
