Consumed in June 2006, purchased from Heeren van Lindekerke (about 1 year cellared? Not exactly sure)
Much more funk in the nose compared to the Roze... some rich, stinky cheese, and starchy sour cream. Much more lively carbonation as well, very active on the tongue, peppy. Creamy acidity, flavor is a little subdued (but I had allergies this day). Rich and sweet tasting, with some really funky, cheese-like funky flavors of horseblanket, lemons, hay and wheat. Aroma is amazingly rich and "funked", more so than any other gueuze I’ve had. Really a different animal than most old gueuze, over-funked, over-cheesed, fresh and lively, simply amazing.

fordest (1778), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Oct 8, 2008 Sampled at RBSG. Favorite of the night. Lots of sour tartness on the aromas and in the flavor. Perfectly acidic without being harsh. Perfect balance between tart and sweet. I love this beer. Doppelganger (1199), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Oct 4, 2008 Bottle with Craig, Stella, Fin, Loz and Traci, at the "What’s This Label Supposed To Be Anyway?" tasting. Thanks for sharing this one Fin!
Beautiful warm orange pour, nice white layer of perfectly uniform bubbles. Wheaty fresh grape aroma, dry sea air, green apricots. Huge aroma volume, just reaches out of the glass and tickles the nose. Dry barn board musk, orange zest. Peppery lemon sorbet flavor, spice and ocean. Gloriously good stuff. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 28, 2008 Tasting with Casey, Traci, Craig, Stella and Loz 27-09-08 this bottle brought along by Fin (cheers to myself) Pours very hazy light amber. The nose and mouth have plenty of prickly apricot, sour nectarine, and peach skin. This incredible sour fruitiness just ripples around the mouth forever bouyed by a lovely soft cabonation. Some damp flour, wheat (picked up by Casey) the edges are softened sightly which makes this so much more palatable to me than some of the very, very sour Gueze. Really marvellous beer. ironchefscott (246), long beach, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 Wow holy shit.....greatest nose of a sour I have ever smelled..super funk and balance...taste is the same....hot damn! miketd (375), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Sep 22, 2008 Had this on several occasions. Vibrant golden pour with a nice white head. Aroma is very complex and awesome. Too much going on to describe...flavor is the same. Yeasy, sour, funky, fruity and light spice. Awesome body and drinkability.
