750ml bottle @ Bill’s epic sour tasting, nicely shared by my buddy John, Mr Wetherel. Pours orange with a bright white head, nose is sweet and guezey and super funky. Taste is very funky and weird, there is a strange up front bitterness in this bottle, I liked it a lot, but I don’t know it seemed to have a weird character to it.

Thanks to Hopdog for sharing this 750ml bottle dated 6-9-2003. It poured cloudy gold in color with a few sparse white bubbles. Aroma is tart, brett funkiness, oak and awesome. Taste is tart, oaky, funky, citric, and just wonderful. The Roze has more of a mellow tartness, and overall more flavors then the Blauw. It’s really a complex brew to describe, but it really is incredible. I never thought I’d have the chance to try this. Thanks again Steve!!!

Pours a very clear copper color with a small but sticky head. Has some visible carbonation. Aroma hits you with signature 3F rubber/leather. Some faintly sweet oak all the way in the back as well. Taste is again all signature 3F with rubber and acidity ending in a drying sourness. The bottom of the bottle clouded up the beer of course but its was still all rubber. Not much different the the regular Oude Geuze.
750mL bottle from De Heeren, white wine glass, split 3 ways at home.

Bottle bought at De Heeren van Liedekercke, bottled in 2003. Hazy golden with a fine with head. Sour lemons and woody aromas. A fantastic blend of wood, talc, lemony lambik flavours that is bone dry all the way. Long oaky aftertaste. Medium body and quite sparkling. Amazing.

Thanks to Miketd and Hopdog for sharing these with me in the last few weeks. Pours a hazy orange- and perhaps just a half shade darker than the blauw- light fizzy carbonaiton and a thin dissipating head. Aroma has a typical Drei Fonteinen funk to it, wth its usual old woodiness, but this one seems way more woody than any other gueze I have had- not oaky or vanilla, just a harsh astringent (yet pleasant) woodiness. Super acidic and sour flavor with tons of wood, bretty as hell- with some wild earthiness going on- farmhouse, horsey, herbal and a light vegetable character blends with the wood- malic acid- apple skins, and some rhubarb. Acidity in the end isnt quite as powerful as the Blauw, but after having this the second time I was liking it way more than the first time. Nice to compare the 2.

Thanks to Miketd for sharing. Poured a hazy orange-amber color with a minimal head. Mildy tart aroma with some nice leathery funky notes. The flavor was tart and drys out with a citrus base to it. Mildly bitter finish with a light to medium body. Pretty tasty.
