Transparent, sunset golden pour with a huge, foamy head of brilliant white. Light effervescent bubbles slowly float to the surface, giving it a bit of a champagne-like sparkle. Aromas of lucsiously tart tangerine zest tickles the nostrils with a light green peppercorn spice. Some funkly lemon rinds and pomegranite seeds add further complexity. A gently sweet layer of pink lady apple flesh and oaky chardonnay skins form a delicious underlying aromatic layer. Impressively funky and spicy. Light bodied, sparkling mouthfeel. Tons of sour acidic funk instantly overwhelms the palate. There’s a great leathery oak layer that envelopes the tongue, creating a tingling sensation that reminds me of the palate sensation of freshly grated nutmeng, minus the nutmeg flavor. Some slightly ashy oak piles on, along with some sun-blanched wheat and herbal stalks of Indian summer goldenrod for some aged hop character. Very old and musty flavors; lots of funky pepper characters. This one does a fantastic job of balancing the layers of funk and tart, allowing it to be crisp, dry, funky, refreshing, and intensely sour all at once. Thanks for sharing, Chris! | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Hazy deep orange golden colored, fine lasting white head. Wood in the aroma along with grapefruit, other fruit - easy going, not to tart, good complexity. Dry and quite woody in the flavor, grapefruit, tones of hop (!). Dry on the tongue. Intense, complex, very nice. I prefer this way more than the Blauw (I guess I like women better ;-) henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 8, 2006 A Mes rate: 75cl bottle from De Heeren van Liedekercke (of course) but shared at home with Duff and Sim. I wish now I had bought back the male version so I could try them side by side but right now I have to say this was better, but I prefer ladies anyway...
Again just like the Blauw, lots of wooden character. Specifically Eucalyptus bark. Appearance has a definite pink hue and I am sure this does not happen by chance. Attention grabbing and attacks the tastebuds as all good lambics should but there is something wonderfully mellow about this too. Slightly ferocious it may but when you sit and think about it you realise that it all just seems really effortless and polite. It is sheer beauty. Yes there is citric acidity and a pointy dry finish, lots of earthy barnyard character and musty old leather notes. But it is just incredibly refined and to be honest just downright sexy. Mouthfeel is simply second to none. I fell in love with it from the very first sip. An utterly fantastic beer and a glowing tribute to a lovely lady. radiomgb (2029), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2006 Cloudy copper in colour, long lasting large white head, great lacing. The aroma is quite sour and sharp, earthy, apple skins, grapes, quite acidic, barnyard, lemon citrus. The flavour is quite acidic and tart, lots of lemons, woody and earthy, old cheese, some apples. Very sharp puckering mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, acidic, incredibly sharp, quite dry. Fantastic stuff.

Big pungent aroma, earthy, sharp, plenty of horseblanket, green apple and lemon. Oaky character in the flavor melds well with the traditional gueuze elements of being very funky and sour. Sharp acidity, incredibly dry, wonderfully complex. Absolutely delicious. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA
