The aroma is sweet and as a kriek should smell, cherries, wood, and more. The flavor is a perfect combination of sweet cherries and sour lambic. With the sourness drawing out the mouthwater. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2006 (On tap) Beautiful, clear red - like berry juice - no head and no carbonation. Cherries in the nose with a vague tartness. Thin and watery with distinct cherry accents. Almost light a vaguely tart fruit juice, but very quaffable. 190506 omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

It’s supposedly made from unblended lambic and schaarbeekse cherries, and is marginally sweetened.
Deep clear red. Aroma of ripe cherrues and vinegar. Sweet and woody, full of wonderful balsamic schaarbeekse cherries. Low carbonation, but the mouthfeel is fresh, lively and sparkling. Grape stone finish with a bit too much sweetness. Mindboggingly tasty.
Additional rating for the "Dry Kriekenlambic", 6.5%. Sampled from cask at Akkurat, Stockholm.
The same magnificent cherry aroma as the sweetened version, but this is significantly drier and more acidic. On paper this is something I like, but instead it doesn’t carry the wonderful flavour of the schaarbeekse cherries as well as the sweetened version. The mouthfeel is still as soft and sparkling, and I still regard this version as ultra-superb, just a tad less wonderful than the sweetened one. (10/5/9/5/17)

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 21, 2009 Purple-red colour. Big, full fruitiness. Voluptuous. Fruity, with pitty bitterness and an orchard fruit note. Fresh and refreshing, again with pit-like bitterness to go with the tart.
