Commercial Description:
Vintage 2002: released beginning 2006
Vintage 2003: released autumn 2006
Vintage 2004: released summer 2007
Vintage 2005: released summer 2008

Editor’s Note: There is a lot of confusion on this one. Please look at your bottle. It belongs here only if it says "Vintage" on the label. If it does not, it belongs under the regular Oude Gueuze listing. The above vintage guide is not what you should go by, as there are both 2002, 2003, 2004, etc...releases of Vintage and Regular Oude Gueuze.

Lovely gueuze with allot of barnyard funk to it, complex woody, bretty and lemony with a complex dirty, sour and dry finish. Colour is also lovely, complex deep, hazy orange. Causes some serious throat cleansing to say the least.

Bottle 04-12-2005. A hazy orange/golden colored beer, with a off white head. The aroma of dough/bread with wood. Some sourness and fruits. The taste is dry bitter, wood, sour with fruits like citrus. Refreshing on a sunny day. The aftertaste is dry and bitter for a long time.

Tasted at the San Diego International Beer Festival. Hazy golden with a fizzy white head. Vinegar aroma and a crisp sour taste.

37,5 cl, bottled in 2005. As the website home.scarlet.be/pajottenland wrote, I conserved the bottle lying and I tried to pour it out like it should be. However I forgot to empty the first few centiliters and to let the beer run over a bit, I held the bottle and the glass diagonal (to avoid the yeast coming into the glass), turned around the glass first so the Gueuze was touching the whole glass and indeed: I had a fantastic white head. Even when the glass was empty for 3/4 I still had a medium lacing white head. There were some bubbles however in this hazy golden-orange beer. I poured it out in a 33 cl Jupiler-glass, because this one was resembling the best a Gueuze-glass. Thanks to the previously announced website for giving me those hints! The beer itself then: the smell was attacking my nose with a rather sharp sour taste, with also some tastes of fruit making it milder. The taste was also fantastic: first of all you have the sour taste of a Gueuze, but it is not too sour, because it is very well balanced with a fruity aftertaste. There are also some notes of wheat. This is also a very refreshing beer, certainly because I drunk it when it was hot. It was a pity the glass was empty, because I enjoyed the beer so much. Oh, and with the little gueuze left in the bottle: throw it away, because all the yeast is in that last 2 cl destroying all the good taste (luckily I only tasted those last 2 cls when my glass was already empty). Top beer, top quality!

Bottle that was picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Belgium 09-06-09 consumed, West Runton, campsite North Norfolk 14-06-09 Pours orange amber with medium white head.Rustic aroma, touch of pepper, sour lemon and other funky fruitiness some apple maybe, though aroma could have been a little better and was perhaps the one weak point? Taste is wonderfully tart but not too sharp, sourness is there, lemon rind, lovely soft fruity tang, dry tartiness. Excellent stuff. A6 A5 F9 P5 Ov16 4.1

Hazy golden beer with a thin white head, amazing sour wooden grapefruity aroma and taste, the sourness hits your tastebuds. makes a homerun and stays to celebrate in your mouth for quite a bit. Amazing.
