Taste is of sour cherries. Sourness fades away along the way, leaving a pleasant cherry taste behind. Pleasantly refreshing. AR (437), Georgia, USA

Beautiful ruby red color with no head to mention. Thin in body; very mild in carbonation. It is sour. After awhile cherry is present. The finish is very dry, decently sour, and dark cherry. There is a woody impression accompanying the sour. Seems to be oak. A very nice lambic. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA

This one did not disappoint; opaque red with a thin head but lots of bubbles, tart sweet flavor that you expect from a kriek and, a clean dry finish. Nothing too special but still real good. Note: I really like lambics, as long as they are decent I’m very happy. akevitt (97), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Thanks to Guerde for sharing! The beer had a nice red color with a lot of carbonation. The aroma was sour, earthy, with mild cherries and some barnyard funk. There was a nice amount of sourness and cherries in the taste with a little bit of earthiness. Had a sour/cherry finish. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2007 (bottle) Pours dark red with a light red head. For the first time I got the strong barnyard aroma that I’ve seen on so many other ratings, and I found it to be quite pleasant. There was not just barnyard to the smell, but also a nice sweet cherry undertone with some sourness as well. The taste was very sour and tart, slightly oaky, and had a nice subdued sweet cherry flavor too. This was a solid lambic. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Rich deep pink/red, slightly cloudy. Slightly sour aroma, slightly winey and cherry too - finally! Taste quite different - strong sharp bitter - very oude and woody sour. Hints of fruit too - very pleasant.

Very little sediment that I can see. The aroma is quite nice, some barnyard and horseblanket, yeast, and unmistakable cherry with an overall aroma that promises a sour treat. Not as sour as I expected however. The Scharbekse is much more sour than this, while this beer has a great balance of lambic but also fruit, yeast, and sugar, but it tastes like real incidental sweetness rather than added sugar. Quite nice.
