Not as complex as I’d hoped- a huge sour cherry, almost even raspberryish, aroma. Slight musky funk in the background. Flavor sweet and sour, with, again, lots of sour cherries, a typical lambic sourness, but not a very hard acidity. Mild grassy, musky, hayloft funk. Drying towards the finish. Big deep purple color with purple-pink fizzy head.

clear blood red, short lived frothy pink head, tart aroma with light oak, lip puckering strong sour cherry flavor obscures the touch of oak in the background, just not enough going on

the oak is coming through stronger on the aroma, the sourness creates such a drying effect, better but still not as great as it should be

Cloudy, dark ruby red body that borders on violet. The head is a foamy, light pink blanket that settles to a small rim after about a minute. There is some visible sediment at the bottom of the glass. Sudsy lace tries its best to cling to the glass, but its a futile effort as gravity quickly imposes its will. The aroma shows strong, sour dark cherries, with a funky, dusty, barnyard-like yeast profile. There’s also a bit of port on the nose. The flavor is very sour, with cherries again dominating. The port adds just a little sweetness, which is welcomed. There is a slight acidic cherry finish in the top-rear of the mouth that lasts for a few seconds. The finish then transitions to a clean, bone dry void. Very interesting brew. Not my favorite style, but incredibly well crafted and something I can really appreciate.

Nice dark rose color with nearly nonexistent pure white head. Aromas of white wine vinegar, sour cherries, and the barnyard notes expected in a lambic. The beer itself is quite smooth and pleasant on the palate, with flavors of sour cherries and an almost lemon/citrus sour bite. I found this beer improved as it approached room temperature, releasing more cherry flavor and a subtle sweetness. A solid beer.

Nice representative of the style. Tart cherries with the funk you’d expect. Mine was a bit low on carbonation.

Bottled December 2005. I’m a bit confused with this one. This bottle had heavy carbonation and a very strong brett aroma. The cherries were more hidden then I would have expected. Two non beer drinkers with me agreed they thought it smelled of a freshly cleaned Porta-John (not necessary a bad thing). I could certainly see what they meant. Funky and acidic, vinegar nose. I saw someone else on here had the same batch from Dec 05 and rated poorly. I had it years ago and enjoyed it much more. I look forward to trying it again.

Bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Dark cherry colour, clear small white head. Cherry, a bit sour aroma like in white wine. When tasting this the first time, it was like a "kijk in de kok", or kick in the cock as the dutch say. Exploding palate with dryness of wood and white grapes. Bottled 2004.
