Color is similar to a cherry fruit beer, and the red makes its way into the thin head as well. Flavor is sour, but not overly so. I must admit this is not my favorite style, but it does intrigue me nonetheless. Finishes dry. Very nice! I couldn’t drink more than one of these, even so, I still thought it was good.
On a side note, I also bought this to try it out on my wife. She thought it was good, although I think she was more impressed with NG Belgian Red based on her reaction. Unfortunately I don’t live in Wisconsin. Fortunately I live in an adjacent state. grandet (485), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Bottles from Clark. Bottled 2-26-05. Deep brilliant red color, 1 finger pinkish head, fades to nothing fast. Aroma very funky, almost too funky, body/foot odorish in a way. Cherry is there but less than expected. Quick sour kick up front, fades to nothing quick. As it warms becomes very bland, almost flavorless, very dry. Nice beer, but let down, expected much more. . drewbeerme (2288), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2007 Updated: May 7, 2008375ml bottle ($8 for 375ml or $27 for 750ml...hmmm, let me think about it). bottled 2/1/05 (aged 2 years). pours a very dense beautiful glowing red color that’s a touch on the darker side with a very thin pink head around the rim. a beautiful kriek worthy of a 5 in appearance. nose has lots of oak, really funky, and loads of sour cherries. man considering the wonderful nose and appearance, the flavor just disappoints. a pretty one dimensional sour and anti-septic flavor. where’s the cherries? not sure. very tart, dry, and bland. perhaps some mild sour cherries near the end of finish toped off with a medicinal flavor. maybe this beer loses lots of cherry flavor at 2 years old. palate is a tad astringent and acidic. in the end, I got use to the medicinal qualities in this lambic and found it tasty nonetheless, not anything special though. 3.7.
5/7/08, 375ml bottled dec 2005. served in a 3 Fonteinen glass. pours ruby with thin white head. aroma is musty with cherry skins, and some vinegar. flavors are tart cherries, red apple skin, vinegar, and musty. short finish. med acidity and low carbonation. a decent kriek but still the goose egg of the 3 Fonteinen line up. 3.7. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland

The flavour again is sour, dry and lightly bitter. There is a dry aftertaste. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Opulent safire in color with a rosy grey head and doily edges. Lovely raspberry kernels and balsamic oak liven the nose. Hardened pomegranate innards are revealed. Freesia cotton sheets cling to dew filled morning glories while caramelized beets meet buttery kernels. Lovely palate cleansing properties strike with pomme juice infused with tart lime sap. Waxy prominence is cleared by the clean sweeping power. Supple background carbonation hides in the soured plum crème brulee and cranberries stamped on by misty atmospheric presences. The balsam is a blessing. Puckering occurs where the wisdom teeth once resided. Raspberry and pommes creap tartly through to the clean finish with tart lavender lather in the end. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Mar 19, 2007 12.7oz bottle from Dec 2005. Mine says 6% ABV by the way, unlike the 5% listed on the site. Pours a bright ruby red/pink with a fizzy pink head. Aroma is sweet, yeasty cow dung on a pile of hay next to a horse in a barn. Sounds appetizing but is actually quite unpleasant. Interesting - yes, good - no. The taste is tart, sour cherries. Tastes better than the smell. Looks pretty, tastes nice, smells of dung. A combination that doesn’t work for me. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 15, 2007 Deep red body with a little orange ray, big pink head; The finest, most elegant aroma that can be found in a kriek: very fine pit-like marzipan, clear and deep notes of sour cherry; The body has a perfect a little sharp carbonation, a very fine a little soft texture, lots of fruit acids, backed by a little both lactic and acetic acid; It finishes long, again with lots of elegance and a very balanced fruity acidity, again lots of fruity aromas, but also a very little hay and cowshed. Incredibly fine beer! Sometimes I wonder; why go true the hassle and cost of getting all the "crazy" Geuze/Lambic/Krieks when you can drink something as fine as this, that is so easily obtainable and cheap.
