Cherry wood color with a delicate, quickly fading pink head. Sour fruit aromas of cherry, lemon, and some wet wood with a strange, primal animalistic smell I can’t much describe. Tannic and sour in the mouth with a subtle depth of flavors...banana, cherry, orange, and maybe a touch of maple. The intense, acidic sour cherry finish is almost overpowering until the tongue adjusts itself. Classic and challenging in every respect, but for its understated finesse rather than for loud complexity. Had this with a second slice of cherry-preserve cheescake, and wouldn’t you know it? It was all the more spectacular.

Cherry red color with a light pink head. Aroma is of sour cherries. Flavor is strong sour dried cherries. Ok mouthfeel. Just not for me.

Dark red pour with little to no head. Sweet cherry yeasty aroma with a sour finish to it.

Poured blood red with a dark pink head. Big yeasty aroma with barnyard notes. It smelled like funk dipped in tart cherry juice. The flavor was big with tart cherries. Some yeasty funk carried over as well. Acidic finish.

Poured a murky red with fast evaporating white head. Sweet cherry aroma was pronounced. Sour bitter cherry flavor that tingled the tongue.

Just another great beer that aspidies keeps bringing out. This beer has an aroma that was just incredible. Huge amounts of brett, lemon, cherries and barnyard stinky funk that is what makes me a fan of these beers. Flavors were much the same as the nose. Not much else to say. The beer does all the talking here. Fantastic.

lovely rubyish orangyish color with a big "powder pink" colored head. funky and damp woody barnyardy stuff going, but mostly cherries in the nose.. but not in an overpowering way. i guess nothing is really overpowering about this beer at all; everything seems nicely balanced flavorwise as well. some (sour) cherries in there, and damp wood and barnyardy stuff and sour. carbonation was very light which was nice. i can’t really compare to the schaerbeekse oude kriek because it’s not sitting here in front of me, but i think i preferred the schaerbeekse more; although this one is quite enjoyable, based on my notes i feel like it stood out more to me than this one does, at the very least.

Bottle. Clear red with big head. Typical 3F-aroma, really funky but with the addition of cherries and solvent. Really dry and sour. Taste is absolutely huge, cherries and pits atop a punchy lambic. Makes me want to fork up the dough for that Schaerbeekse...
