Just another great beer that aspidies keeps bringing out. This beer has an aroma that was just incredible. Huge amounts of brett, lemon, cherries and barnyard stinky funk that is what makes me a fan of these beers. Flavors were much the same as the nose. Not much else to say. The beer does all the talking here. Fantastic.

lovely rubyish orangyish color with a big "powder pink" colored head. funky and damp woody barnyardy stuff going, but mostly cherries in the nose.. but not in an overpowering way. i guess nothing is really overpowering about this beer at all; everything seems nicely balanced flavorwise as well. some (sour) cherries in there, and damp wood and barnyardy stuff and sour. carbonation was very light which was nice. i can’t really compare to the schaerbeekse oude kriek because it’s not sitting here in front of me, but i think i preferred the schaerbeekse more; although this one is quite enjoyable, based on my notes i feel like it stood out more to me than this one does, at the very least.

Bottle. Clear red with big head. Typical 3F-aroma, really funky but with the addition of cherries and solvent. Really dry and sour. Taste is absolutely huge, cherries and pits atop a punchy lambic. Makes me want to fork up the dough for that Schaerbeekse...

(75 cl bottle from the Cuvée section at Akkurat, Stockholm) Labeled "Schaerbeekse Oude Kriek" and 5.0%, 2004 vintage. Frothy pink head. Shady cherry red color. Strong sour cherry seed scent, dry woody, almost sticky sour. Some stable horseblanket, still fresh smell. Very spritzy mouthfeel. Sour taste. Makes my water run with saliva like crazy. Pretty much no bitterness.

From a 750mL Bottle. Deep red pour with a well sustaining pink head for a lambic. Sour cherries are prevelent in the aroma, accompanied by some dry woody oak and a touch of soft vanilla that balances the tart fruits quite nicely. Light, well carbonated, tart mouthfeel. There’s a nice soft balance between the tart fruits and dry oakiness, making this a fairly easy drinking, non-aggressive fruit lambic thats not overly sweet, sour, woody, or fruity - just a nice subtle complexity.

Bottle. Red color with a white head. Dry and cherry flavors with a nice lambic musty aroma. Rating from December 2005 notes.

The taste on this is both sweet and sour, which is a little different. The cherry is there but not overwhelming. Nice.

12/2/05. blood red with no head. sour cherry aroma. oak, green olive, plastic, sour cherry flavor. the cherry is not strong enough to get over the strong woody, olive tastes. i hate olives and thats what it tastes like to me. not a fan.
