Oaken nose, seems very dry and tart, sour cherries a la cherry pits. Punching sourness aligns with the beginning of this one, but it smooths out nicely revealing a bowl of premature cherries. Oak accompanies the dryness. Seems somewhat vinous as well. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Very clean, up in your face tartness, but backs quickly so as not to leave your mouth completely puckered. Good stuff!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2006 A funky red wine aroma. Sourness plus fruitiness. burgundy color with some purple. Uncarbonated. really sour like a lambic but the balance of cherries totally pulls it back from vomit like flavor of Bam Biere. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2006 Bottle. Dark cranberry color with almost no head. Aroma is sour and super musty - funky smelling (kind of like wet socks). Super sour flavor dominated by sour cherry. Too thin and sour for my liking, but it has its merits. Almost no carbonation. I’d have to have it a couple more times before I could fully appreciate it I’m sure. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Dark Pink/light red with just a bit of light pink champagne like bubbles.Nose is for sure a musty sour cherry. Mna,I never liked this style before but whence you get a taste.... The sour cherry and earthy flavor is awesome. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Poured a garnet red color with a very small head after a fairly vigorous pour. The lacing was almost nil. The aroma was funky with tart citrus aspects. The flavor was underwhelming. Rather tart and sour, but somewhat weak in strength and character (not complex, sour cherries, apples, and barnyard / horse blankets... the cherries were much underplayed in this "kriek"). The mouthfeel was also somewhat thin and weak / watery. For the price, this was a big disappointment. For the style, decent, but not the best. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Brownish red colour with small head. Sour cherry and musty yeast aroma. Some typical barn. Moderately sour with tart cherry, musty, earthy flavour. A dry and sour kriek with minimal sweetness. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Very bright cherry red colour topped by a thick pink head fast fading to leave an effervescent red liquid. Beautiful beer. Funky, horseblankety aroma, over a soft cherry aroma. Light citrus and some vanilla. Light spice and a hint of almond. Flavour is musty with some light lactic sourness in back. Very soft palate. Soft vanilla/tapioca flavours, citrus and a lingering cherry fruitiness. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2006 Bottled Feb 1, 2005. Poured into the Stone Impy Stout snifter. This had a rich reddish cherry body with a small head. Some lacing on the glass. With the blue gargoyle from Stone it looked really attractive. Lotsa barnyard action in the aroma with some sweet cherries, some tartness and some other fruits. I couldn’t stop smelling the glass. A tart flavor with a slight cherry sweetness in the end, this was really enjoyable. I wish I got the bigger bottle.
