Bottle version, new label: Pours a deep seductive ruby hue. Small pinkish head which dwindles away slowly. Candy cherry nose, cherry preserves, cherry blossoms, faint vinous notes, band-aid, vinegar, wet leather. Palate reveals more sweet and sour fruit, rubber band, bretty, barnyard, cheese, sweat, cherry pit, leather, vanilla, wood, rather vinous, lively mouthfeel, steady carbonation. Finishing quite acidic, with a sour cherry head bashing. This is quite nice, and I will definately revisit. I am quite excited this is here in the states.As well as the Schaarbeekse version. Yummy!

(Bottled 02/2005, 0.375l) Ruby colored with a pinkish, small head. Tart, wheaty aroma or redcurrants and cherry. Pleasantly tart and quite dry, berryish flavor - very much like freshly-made redcurrant juice - with an astringent finish. Not much cherry present. Refreshing, light to medium-bodied, dry and crisp palate with pretty low carbonation. A nice and refreshing, quality kriek.

Clear red colour with orange notes. Almost no head. Tart, complex aroma of vanilla and cherry and wood.Very dry mouthfeel, lightly carbonated. Very acidic flavour, maybe slightly disappointing relative to the complex aroma and the rave reviews.

A bordeaux colour with a pink head. Acidic aroma. Taste is acidic, cherry and a bit watery. I’ve expected more, maybe just a bad bottle?But still a good beer. I’m going to buy another one to be sure. (Corked bottle 37.5cl)

Clear red colour with a pink/redish head. Yeasty sour nose. Sweet, refreshing extremely dry flavour. Some hints of green apples and cherry.

2004: Hazy scarlet-orange. Foamy pinkish ring of head throws patchy lace on the glass. Divine aromatics of sulfur, musty oak, almonds, and cherry stones. Slightly jammy, underneath. Tight carbonation becomes expansively soft. Dry with a briskly tart explosion of spicy brett and fuzz from an unripe peach. Tongue covering cherry-skin textures mask the medicinal edge of sweetness. Simultaneously juicy and dry, with a juggling robust brett and vibrant cherry showcase. Musty oak and crushed mineral harshness thwart much of the underlying iron and rounded almond notes. Airy phenols bristle with dryness, as cherry stones, oak, and sulfur continually impart more stiffness. With the exception of some muted huskiness as it warms, malt existence is next to nil. Finishes deceptively dry, as oak and sulfuric grit strengthen the rigid dryness moments before a softening shift of cherry skins and melon. It breaks my heart to see the last sip go. This is utterly exquisite, and 750ml of this nectar is nowhere near enough.

Deep cherry red with an intense rosée head. Lighter cherry aroma with good horseblanket quality in nose, with lactic notes. Intense sour beer with fresh sour cherries, lots of carbonation, rich and intense! Bought at brewery in Beersel.

Bright red w/ frothy pink foam. Big, sour cherry aroma w/ hints of sweet black cherries, as well as barnyard, leather, & cheese. Light, acidic feel. Flavour is complex & wonderfully tart w/ a rich vinous (oak) quality.
