MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Jun 2, 2005 Updated: Feb 27, 2008 Bottle. Fruity, acidic, moldy aroma. Nice cloudy red colour. Small white head. Slightly acidic flavour with a hint of fruit. Very slight aftertaste like drinking cheap beer after red wine. 7 3 6 3 13
Bottle, 5%. From the label it looked like the Schaerbeekse Kriek, but this was only made with 60% Schaerbeekse cherries. Litterally mouthwatering acidic aroma. Some fresh cellar aroma and a hint of fat cherries. Quite cloudy, but beautiful deep red colour, very small pink head. The flavour is also nicely acidic and on the sweet side. Some fruit, but it reminds me mostly of saftevand. Very high carbonation. Very good, even though I prefer the sharper edge of Cantillon. 9 4 8 3 16
Scauca (260), Lovere, Italy Oct 5, 2008 Deep red with no head. Sweet cherry aroma, some wood, some sourness. Definitely not sour nor bretta’s tipycal aromas featured, but still a remarkably good kriek. grandridge (160), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Sep 27, 2008 375mL Lot 01 Bottled Feb. 2005. Pours an orange-red with minimal head. Aroma is tart cherries and wood. Flavor is very sour cherries and wood at first. Finishes very dry and tart. Not very complex, you are overwhelmed by sour cherries with woody undertones. A slight sweetness in there towards the finish but not much else. vyvvy (1756), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 24, 2008 Pours quite reddish with a very small head. The aroma is quite tart and vinegary, share, some sour cherries, wild yeast and some wood. Thin body with little to no carbonation. The flavor starts with lots of tartness, sourness and cherries. The finish is more of the same. This is not very complex, especially from 3 Fonteinen, but what is there is what I like. Ober (401), Best, Netherlands Sep 16, 2008 A dark red colored beer, with a reddies head, which disappears very quickly. The aroma of cherry fruits, with sweets and a little sour. The taste of sour cherries, wood. It has a long dry finish. JK54B (385), Finland Sep 14, 2008 Gorgeus red colour. A dry cherryish tatse. Nice head. Well balanced sourness/sweetness. A bottle tatsed at Pikkulintu.
