Commercial Description:
Unblended lambic available on draught at the 3 Fonteinen brewpub.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "3 Fonteinen Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "3 Fonteinen Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik". If in doubt, message JorisPPattyn.

Draught at de Drie Fonteinen. Had this lambiek of around 6 months and 10 months. The 10 months old sample was already much better then the younger one. Aroma of cherry and wine vinegar. Cloudy, amber color, no head. Light sweet, light sour, hint of veggies, overripe apples. Soft and a bit dry.

Hazy amber golden, completely lacking head. Distinct, tart Brett aroma. Slightly watery body with a marked sourness. All the typical Brett characteristics: horse blanket, donkey manure - you name it. All fun stuff. 190506

Pitcher at Københavnske Øldage 2006. Pours a clear yellow. Sour with aromas of resin and vinegar. No carbonation. Still learning to like this style.
