Poured from a 750 ml. Pinksih hue with a thin dissipating white head. Sour funky cherry aroma. A bit of carbonation on palate. Clean cheery and short dry finish. Good for the style.

Bottle, with Fin, Loz and Traci at our Belgian Beer Tasting (Part II). Really pretty warm red, frothy pink/white head. Old leather aroma and rich red currents. Elegant and powerfully restrained. Flavor is a clean, woody tartness and an epic, magnificent explosion of cherries. Very dry, but as if by being so dry the essense of cherry became more focued and intense. A nice menthol presense creeps into the finish. Amazing. Easily my favorite 3 Fonteinen beer so far. Thanks so much Fin for sharing this fantastic beer with me!

Bottle picked up at the Hop Duvel, Gent, early December 07. Shared this in Belgian Beer Tasting evening with Loz, Casey and Traci’ 04-01-08 Poured a fabulous reddy/pink colour really quite vibrant even in the poor light of our living room, topped of with a nice pink head of foam. Aroma was fanatabulously funky and quite cherrytastic. Stunning sour cherry taste that just ripped through, the cherries just utterly dominated the proceedings streaky, sour, tart, on occasions reminding one of that rosey apple boiled sweet sharpness you recall as a kid on the other sharp cherry drops, quite lovely indeed, "look down there’s cherry town" great beer.

Pours a hazy pink with a thin, course head. Lots of cherries on the nose with a nice sour funk. Sour cherry flavor that finishes sour and a bit dry. Very good beer.

750 mL. Lovely color, pinkish/orange color wiht a light pink head. Good nose of lambic and cherries. Phenomenal cherry fruit character, natural, pure, juicy and lingering on the palate.

Pours a cloudy raspberry-brown with a thin wispy, whitish head. The nose is a big, funky, sour cherry, with an emphasis on the funk. Medium-bodied and super-tart it finishes dry and sour. The flavor is precisely like the nose, with super-funky sour cherries dominating, and a dry, sour finish leaving a smile on the face. This is a nice kriek and a world apart from the sweet krieks produced by Lindemans and St. Louis. Thanks for cracking this one open, Tim!

750 ml bottle, purchased at Lukas, KCMO, enjoyed at my Holiday Mini Tasting. Pour is reddish brown, with a 1/2 inch tan head that fades immediately. Aroma of pure funk, nice woody sourness. Taste of the sourness, and big cherry / raspberry fruitiness. The wood is present as well, though it is nicely blended with the fruit. Finish is very dry. Really nice beer, much more sour than expected though I loved that.
