Cherries, yes, but also hints of rubbing alcohol. wood, cinnamon, and lemon. It calms down a little with time, but still strange. A decently potent acidity first hits the tongue, followed by a drawn out cherry finish. Also a bit of wood, and perhaps smoke in the finish. A nice, subtle touch at the end. Ultimately good, but not entirely my style. Rustyham (565), miami, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2009 strong aroma of cherries, flavor is crisp and light, along with a a whispy palate. No sugarry sweetness- tastes natural. Kind og like a cherry vitamin water, but better. Bottle from Ryan Blanksi’s Sourfest- Hollywood, Florida. daknole (2975), Plantation, Florida, USA

Cherries leap out of the glass followed by some lemon zest, vinegar, wood, but mostly dominated by tart cherries. Flavor is wonderfully tart and remarkable fruity. Really a wonderful beer. Damn good. Once the cork comes out, the bubbles build and slowly creep toward the mouth of the bottle. Pours a lightly hazy deep ruby with a small, effervescent head that is just the faintest shade of pink. The aroma has lots of the typical 3F funky brettanomyces character, surprisingly subtle and well blended cherry, and obvious lactic and subtle acetic character. The first sip sends waves of puckering acidity rolling through my mouth that lingers for some time after swallowing. Once my palate gets ’used’ to the onslaught, the admittedly faded cherry flavor is apparent. The funk is definitely there, but this beer is just straight up sour cherries and intense acidity. Really, really great beer. It would be interesting to see what another 3 years does to it. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA

Reddish-pink color and different than the Hommage. Smells like cherry lambic but not as fruity as I hoped. Then again, this was bottled in March of 2005 so that could be a factor. The taste was spritzy cherries that reminded me of cherry 7-Up! This was a good enough kriek but nowhere close the Hommage.

Pours hazy red with a brownish glow and a red/brown head.
It has a very dry and nice sweet unripe sour cherry aroma, that’s a little perfumed.
Flavour is dry with notes of sour cherries, almonds, wood and grass.
It has a smooth but dim after taste of fermented sour cherries.

Fantastic aroma of cherries, oak, light acid and almonds. The flavour is sour cherries, oak, almond and dried fruit. Creamy and smooth texture. This is by far one of the best sours Ive ever had. mreusch (740), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 2, 2009 750ml bottle, dated 01march2005, with a big thanks to PhillyBeer2112! Pours a mostly clear reddish pink with a moderate pinkish white head that lingers. Aroma is just enough funk to be interesting, with sour cherry and oak mixed in nicely. Flavor is lovely as well, with more bright sour cherry, light funk and oak. Great balance of funk and tart with a nice dry finish. Wow, this is a tasty one and a nice way to move past that nasty Papier. Thanks mucho Dan!
