Poured a nice deep red with a pink head. Aroma was alot of sour cherry, funk, and oak. Taste was moderately sour- with sour cherries, vinegar, and a decent amount of woody oak and horseblanket/funk. Slightly sweet with some wheat in the background. Finishes tart, dries the palate and leaves you wanting more. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA

Deep Ruby color with some cloudiness from the sediment remaining in bottle. Aromas of horsehair and wet burlap.......but in a good way. Sour wild cherry aroma also tossed in for good measure with that being vey much the taste sensation throughout. However, good use of brett, malt and hop character to prevent the cherries from taking over. Well balanced overall, but I would’ve liked to have seen more of the funk in this one. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Tart and funky aroma - slight woody notes, and the cherries weren’t overpowering at all, which was excellent. Really solid aroma in my opinion. Flavor is tart and slightly sweet, with light cherry undertones. Big finish that’s mostly sour. Nice on the palate. A great lambic, a really great example of the style, in my limited exposure to them. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Pours a slighty cloudy ruby color with a tiny pinkish head into the flute glass. The scent was of sour cherries, oak, vinegar and some yeast. The flavor is very sour with cherries and vinegar rushing to the front of the palate. I still can’t get into the sourness of lambic beers. Too tart for my liking. LeopoldStoch (201), Green, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2007 I cracked open a Feb 06 bottle of this with my brother recently on a nice recommendation by my buddy MoeJuck! thanks for pointing me in the right direction joe!! Now onto the beer...poured a nice pinkish red with an off white reddish tinted head. Very very funk filled aroma with lots of barnyard horseblanket and all that going on mixed in with a nice meld of sourness, vanilla, and oak. The flavor is lots of the woodyness and vanilla mixed together with quite a bit of underipened tart black cherries. The sourness is not over the top at all and is very enjoyable throughout this beer. Finishes very dry and refreshing and leaves you wanting more and more with each sip...another good lambic that is making me believe more and more into the complexity that is the lambic style. 7/11/2007: 3 Fonteinen Schaerbeekse Kriek has an aroma of real bing cherries with a slightly acidic and musty quality to it. It is dark ruby red in color (purple hue to it as well) with a pink/nearly red foamy head. The flavor is also musty and acidic as well as sour. There is a long, tart cherry and wheat finish. The body of this beer is medium-light to medium and is nicely carbonated. Complex and very good!

Thanks to gputty for bringing this to my last minute tasting - I wasn’t even sure he drank beer anymore. Brown-tinged red with a slightly pinkish head. Lightly astringent cherry nose, some light funkiness. Mildly sour cherry flavor, lightly acidic finish. Excellent!
