Sour cherry flavours with some spice and clove, well balanced and not overwhelming. A nice sweet finish and slight bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation and lovely refreshing, round beer. A wonderful kriek. kmweaver (2483), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2006 750mL bottle, dated 01 March 2005. Pours a dark ruby red; light pink head with pleasant lacing. Aroma shows plenty of tart cherries, funk, oak and some vanilla notes in the background. The full tartness of this beer doesn’t show itself immediately - its highly drinkable at the front, full mouthfeel with sour cherries, toasty oak, some funk and horseblanket, even hints at a warm cherry core - then there’s a slight jaw-aching tartness on the back end. I wish I could say I enjoy this a good deal more than their regular kriek (it’s a bit more complex and composed, certainly), but it doesn’t blow me away like their Geuze. Theis (3768), Denmark

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2006 2004 – Slightly hazy orange red body, light pink huge head; Super balanced, not explosive cherry nose, both pit and meat. It aint really fresh, doesn’t seem to have aged to well; Huge carbonation in balanced deep body, not to sour; Sourness grows in finish that has some slightly warm acetic acid, lasts very long, actually forever. Very, very settled (to settled) compared to a 2006 tasted the day before. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Bottle: Ruby red, light head and lacing. Very woody nose with tart ripe fruit, gain and poptart notes. Sweet, grainy, musky. Very pleasant wheat notes in the flavor with the tart and beautifully vinous cherries in the end. This is pretty damn good, I could drink this all night rather than take stupid notes. Amaj80HC (13), 9, Belgium
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2006 It’s the best Kriek i had sofar. It’s supposed to be sour and it is but nothing like a Cantillon Kriek which is too sour to be drinkable in my opinion. The price however is too high so i bought a stock of the the Mort Subite Kriek limited edition which can be kept for 4 years and who is, tastewise, evoluating in the same direction as the 3fonteienen Schaerbeekse Kriek.
