750ml bottle from De Heeren van Liedekercke. Poured a deep red with a medium sized pink head. Big aroma of cherries of course with a bit of sourness. Flavor is just as one would expect. Cherries and sour acidic funk. Good beer.

(Bottled, 0.75l, 04/2004) Very hazy ruby red color with a large, foamy head (burst right out of the bottle). Tart, quite natural cherry aroma. Very nicely balanced, very dry and tart, quite natural cherry flavor with moderate acidity. Medium-bodied, very dry palate with slightly foamy carbonation. A very pleasant, although quite sour and dry kriek.

bottle from xray. muddy red body with a light red ring of a head. sour and sweaty nose with sulphur in all the right places. this makes my jaws clinch & eyes water. intriguing sour fruit and bubblegum. cherry twinge inducing funked sour with acidic seedless grapes, a good vinegar note too. vanilla appears through this with a wheatyness. "i could live on sour beers, couldn’t you?"- TAR. "yep"- Kevin. a microflora masterpiece. som much going going on that blows me away and i can’t pin down except to say this is good shit. vanilla, paper, ginger, vinegar and nuts are the finish with the sour cherries.

Pours ruby red with a thin pinkish head. Smells of barnyard, cherries, raspberries, some oak, sweet sugar. Tastes of tarte cherries, wood, sugar, some breadiness. Strange but good.

(Bottle at 3 fonteinen, Beersel) Pours blood red with orange hints. The head is firm and light pink. Aroma is sour, salty with acid notes. Deep cherry tones. Wood, rubber tyre, stable and some chlorine are also present. The the flavour is sour, a bit grapy. Good, lively carbonation. Acid and minerals. Fresh broken wood. Dryish and lovely. Second try: (Bottle) pours deep blood red with a light pink head. The aroma is ripe cherries juice, barnyard/horse blanket brett, mouldy basement and citrus peels. Undertones of cinnamon, almond and vanilla. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter and medium acidic with tones of ripe cherries, funky brett, citrus, cinnamon almond and mould. The mouthfeel is juicy and tart with a light carbonation. Citric and tannic aftertaste. Medium bodied.

03-2005 bottle. Pours a brilliant, glistening ruby that is as beautiful as a liquid could be. Aroma is funky, strong, and unrestrained, with a subtle hint of cherries, with white chocolate, fresh dough, and sour apple coming through. A bit harsh on the palate -- my only real criticism of the beer -- though still luscious and rich in the mouth. The cherry comes through a lot more here, though isnt quite as prevalent as I hoped. It’s mostly been bittered and dried out, and doesn’t have the gentle, subtle touch of sweetness (from the cherries) that Lou Pepe Kriek had. Still, a wonderful beer.

Bottled in March 2005. Poured a deeper red capped by a short pink head. The aroma was chock full of wild, half-dried cherries, dusty barnyard funk, and well-rounded oak accents. The flavor shined with un-sweetened cherry tartness, funky must, and bunches of oak. Tart on the palate, but not overbearing... sour cherry highlights... dry refreshing finish. This was a most excellent brew!

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one pours deep red with a two finger thick fizzy pink head. Aroma of fermented fruit, alcohol, sourness. The flavor is smooth, slightly bitter, fruit, carbonated, best Lambic i have tried to date, not a style i like although.
