Pours purple with pink head, unique look. The aroma is wonderfully complex. Cherries are noticable and both sour and tart. Strong funky character in aroma as well. It just gets better as it goes on. The flavor is wonderfully sour and cherry tartness erupts. There is a sharp amonia that plays well with all of the sour flavors. Earthyness is also a great character addition. Very plesant. I do like the sour beers.

Bottle. Bottling date 01 March 2005. Very small head that fully dissipated, no lacing, hazy, and a cranberry hue. Sweet, sour cherry nose. Flavor was sweet, sour, tart, tangy and cherries. Light body.

(Bottle, 01/March/2005 vintage) Pours a deep ruby body with a small pinkish head. The aroma exhibits cherries and oragnic earthiness. Flavor of cherries, oak, citrus, and apple with a moderately acidic, astringent, somewhat dry finish.

Incredibly delicious. Right up there with my favorite lambics/gueze. Funky barnyard aromas balance on the wafting notes of obviously sour cherry. Deeply complex cherry, lambic, brett, and malt predominate the expertly carbonated effervesence of this perfectly bodied deliciousness.

Sampled at the "let’s piss off Clark" tasting, can’t remember who brought this one but thanks anyway!

A totally deep shade of raspberry red, with a pink head that my girfriend adored, but that was about it, she being of the Lindemans sweet lambic type...
Aromas are both funky and sweet, plenty of yeasty spices and tobacco/leather.
The cherries came out as real and as potent as I’ve ever tasted in a lambic, it was like eating fresh ripe cherries. It was relatively sweet, so the acidity seemed a bit more shadowed but still plenty puckering. The funk factor was also a bit toned down in the taste, in fact I’m really surprised that Mélanie didn’t like this more than her usual half-sip and puckered face. The drinkability for me was through the roof.

Sample BI Indy gathering 2/25/06 - Aroma of sour cherries, funk, and spice. Pours deep red, lots of floaties, no head or lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a little woodiness and more cherry. Palate is tart and delicious. I could drink a lot of this.

This was what I toasted the new year with. The nose was sweet cherries and musty wood. The flavor started off with a tart cherry flavor followed up with an incredibly complex finish with some sweet lemon, must, oak, and some other funky flavors. Some serious stuff here.

A very quiet entrance, almost silent. The pour was still, a few large glassy bubbles, nonexistant lace. Looks dead in my glass, hazy red, Hawiian punch like in appearence. Appears dissappointing. Gotta hve some carbonation, damn it! Nose of lightly tart cherries, wet leather and some lumbery notes. Body is med/light, moderately sour, puckering and dry. Cherrys, wood and a light astringency on the palate, bone dry. All the flavors seem really bland, muddled, just laying there. Body becomes more watery as the tasting progresses. Dry, fruity finish, nicely tart though. A serious dissappointment. The base is there but i,m not sure what happened? Bad bottle? Carbonation never took? I can see theres a tastey Kriek in there, but what happened? Gotta believe the lack of carbonation killed this baby, IMHO. Bummer.
