Cask @ Pembury Fest. Amber with a thin white head. Appley malt and hops in the aroma with a taste much the same, some bitterness in the finish but quite well balanced overall. Not bad.

Cask at Wetherspoon’s, Hammersmith. Fine creamy head, a well balanced bitter with a malty base and a nice hoppy bitterness. Good, not outstanding.

A Mes rate: Cask at Baker St. ’Sporks.
Ahh, a Stockport beer. My home town. Biased I may be but this was pretty good. Gloden brown / amber with a reasonable white head that lasted well. Malty and fruity aroma with some nice delicate hoppy notes. Similar flavour with some lovely nutty notes and nice bitter hops giving it good balance. Even more so in the finish. Certainly one of the better beers I have had from this particular ’Sporks.

Cask (handpump), Shakespeares Head (JDW), Holborn. Amber colour with a modest but lasting, off-white head. Prominent, solid hop presence on the nose. Spicy and fruity with a steely, mineral edge. Pronounced chalky bitterness on the palate with grapefruit. Some juicy, fruity malt in the background. Nicely balanced with a firm mouthfeel and a slaty bite. Lingering bitterness on the finish. Nothing too complex here but an exemplary best bitter. Top notch.
