(750ml bottle) Sampled at TiggMTL’s Montreal Crew YEHa!05 Christmas Party on December 17, 2005. It looks as though Yowie had another bottle of this beer stored away? Pours a deep brown body with a thin beige head. Nose is very toasty. Scotch smooth with vasnilla tones. Very good.

The legendary Corne de Brume. This beer has developed quite a cult following since Brasserie aux 4 Temps closed down many years ago. The last remaining 750ml bottles are sold for $$$ and we were lucky enough to have cathschlag get her hands on one. I don’t remember the taste of a fresh one so I can’t tell you how the years have changed it. What I can tell you though is that it tasted pretty good. Brown body with particles, average off-white head. At our tasting someone came up with Black Forrest Cake and I couldn’t agree more. Very strong aroma. I felt like I was drinking an alcoholised melted Black Forrest Cake (sour cherries, bitter black chocolate, sweet, creamy body, etc.). For the Budweiser drinking rednecks: a Black Forrest Cake is like a very fancy cherry-filled chocolate donut. 750ml bottle.

A mostly lasting average frothy tan head tops up a very dark brown body. Moderate lacing. No particles. No bubbles. Aroma presents malt being moderate chocolate (the 90% cacao type) while hops are barely noticeable ... Yeast character is moderate fruitiness. Also, there are evident evocations of cherry , making the overall impression of a black forest cake. Some nuts overtones. Initial flavor is moderate sweet while development is a little more alcoholic. Finish is long . medium to full body... creamy texture... Soft carbonation... Body has deteriorated a little over time, but it’s still very nice.
[Bottled ; about 7 years old.]
This is a very rare bottle generously shared by cathschlag

Dark clear brown ale with a thin moka head. Wonderful prunes in aroma, with brown sugar, hops and floral soy sauce. Just like candy! Blended malts and smooth butterscotch and hops. Rich and smooth in mouth. Merci mon clutant! Enjoyed at YEHa!05 Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, 2005.
