Aroma is mouth-watering - rich and malty, with hints of apple, pear and even banana. Flavor is just as delightfully rich as the aroma, mainly malty with strong hoppy undertone and a touch of fruity sweetness. Finish is zingy and very pleasant. This is probably the best brew I have ever had at Five Seasons. grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA

And then I was told I was given the bottom of the keg...hahahaha! Very smooth. Same yeasty profile as the trippel only with less hops and a slightly sweeter backbone. Exquisite.

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 6, 2006 Finally had this last night at 5 Seasons, as they were out of it a few weeks ago. A nice thick, off-white, ceamy, head with great lacing. Head completely disappeared. Hazy, orange color, but it was a little hard to tell since it was pretty dark. Aroma was incredible! I smelled banana, a little clove, but lots of yeast. Taste matched the aroma to a tee. I had this with the pork chop and it worked perfectly; it cut the fat beautifully. As a previous rater stated, this was served a bit too cold. The three other beers I had were not nearly as cold. Once again 5 Seasons hits one out of the park. I’ve yet to come across a style that they can’t brew. This beer is right up there with the Dubbel. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

This is right up there with the really special Belgiun Ales that I’ve had. Nice and tart with a spicy yeast taste. This is an epic brew. Almost worth the trip to Atlanta. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2007 2004 version. DL 06’ courtesy of TBC2. Medium brown, white head. Huge floral up front, with light sour/tart fruitiness and yeasty/bready backbone. Flavor much the same, with some residuel or candi sugar. Very soft/delicate mouthfeel. Might not be exactly to style, but come on it’s saison. Nice brew overall. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 6, 2008 This was absolutely delicious! For once I could not agree more with the commercial description. A beautiful deep orange hue is present here, with a small sticky white head. Full of lots of lighter fruits in the aroma, with a palate that is somewhat yeasty , with some lighter candi sugar flavors and just a hint of sourness in the finish. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Murky brown/gray/rust with a modest, frothy, darker off white cap. Subdued aroma of spicy doughy yeast, musty funk, and subtle vinegar. Flavor adds earth, dry wood, berries, grains, light sourness. Unique taste. Smooth medium palate. Very tasty, original brew. Very estery and sweet, bubble gum, black and white pepper, apple/pear, yeasty and bready. Strongly peachy flavour with some light raspberry aromas as well. Very yeasty and fruity. Heavy minty aroma/flavour through the finish. Cooling sensation. Very nice beer.
