Commercial Description:
Kind of like our Münchner, only BIGGER! This full bodied, malty, mellow amber lager is brewed only once a year, to celebrate the Oktoberfest. Munich & Pilsen malts make this beer big and smooth, while German CaraMunich malt gives it a rich amber hue. This style is also known as Märzenbier and Weis'n Bier. Best enjoyed in a one liter Mass with three fingers of foamy head!

Amber, big off-white head, toasted malt aroma, slightly sweet malt flavor, essence of carmel and biscuit malts, the biscuit comes through strong as it warms and the sweetness subsides, best octoberfest yet out of this brewery

Pours a deep amber copper with a puffy, off-white head. Has a subtle toasty caramel and earthy noble hop aroma. Starts with some mild sticky pale malty sweetness and a touch of toffee. Nicely balanced with noble hops and good authenticity. Has a full-malty palate. A very enjoyable oktoberfest, but not something that is conducive to drinking multiple liters.

Draft at the 5 (they actually had this at Brick Store too but was gone when I got there). Clear orange-copper color with a meidum white head. Aroma and flavor of sweet caramel malt. Good body/mouthfeel. Good example.

Had on tap at the brewpub. Medium orange pour, light, crisp white head. Fairly decent lacing. Sweet, bubble gum-like aroma. Some ripening vegetable notes to start off - some pumpkin perhaps. Back end has some caramel notes and there is an ever present smokiness to this on that is appreciated and enjoyed. Decently thick mouthfeel. Very decent Oktoberfest.

Fruit and yeasty aroma over toasted grain and carame. Big head, clear, medium-to-darkish bronze beer. For the most part, its crisp with a toasty, lightly tangy malting. Not very sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body. Finishes out with a bit of roast and a parched grain flavor. A good food compliment.

Appearance: Pours a clear, copper body with a small, fine, white head. Smell: Sweetish, toasty biscuit nose with a slight, underlying fruit character. Taste: Toasty biscuit malts start things off, then a sugary light caramel taste enters with a Red Delicious apple fruitiness. Light floral, spicy hops and bitterness. Still, it finishes relatively sweet with a lingering yeastiness. Mouthfeel: Just barely medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Drinkability: A pleasant light beer, it would be great in great quantities.

Had this beer at the 5 Seasons Oktoberfest 2006. Bumped into Jeff&Susan there!!! orange amber in color. OMG, Jeff drank the Belgian Boy’s Piss! Very maltyand a great bitter finish. Perfect American Märzen.

Dark cherry stain body with a large stiff foam head that takes a while to settle. Something in the aroma is making me thing of sand. My guess is the pilsen malt, which tastes kind of sandy to me, comes through in the aroma more than the flavor. Lots of malt here. The body is sweet, big malt, wood. In the cask conditioned version, the hops come up a little bit (not noticeable in the normal version) and the carbonation increases. There's a slight hint of lemon in the finish. Good beer and easily drinkable.
