Pours a dark translucent ruby-brownish with a decent light tan head. Strong malty and hoppy aroma has molasses and nutty hints. Rich flavor has a strong alcohol zing typical of barleywines, but this does not dominate the taste, which has a nice balance of malt and hops and a nutty undertone. Texture is smoother and more pleasant than most barleywines I have tried.

Pours dark ruby with small head. Aroma of fruit, caramel sweet malt, light hops. Taste is very malty, dark fruit, light hop, other sweetness. Finish is smooth with warming alcohol. Mouth is also nice. Overall, a solid BW.

Pours a deep ruby color with a tan head. Aroma is fruity, caramel, figs, sherry, and some earthy hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, toast, figs, and a warming bitter finish.

It took them a while to get around to making a barleywine. but I knew when Glenn finally did one he would knock it out of the park. This one is no slouch, wonderfully rich and complex. Lots of dark fruit and candi sugar, raisins and dates, with a sweet but not cloying flavor of cake icing. This will age extremely well.

Deep garnet body with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity and full of alcohol. Flavor is huge and malty; not much hoppiness in here, but there are notes of raisins and other dark fruits. Alcohol is quite noticeable. A big, solid barleywine.

Not at all RETIRED, thankfully! Appearance: Pours a hazy, robust-looking mahogany body with a dense off-white head. Smell: Rich, dark toasted toffee aroma with hints of dark fruits and minor, light alcohol notes. Taste: Very lush malt flavor with tons of sweet toffee. Mild fruitiness. Slight hop bite on the altogether sweet finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Quite warming. Drinkability: Heavenly. A very enjoyable barleywine from 5 Seasons.

Flavor: nice rich ripe fruit flavor, light hops to balance without showing any hoppy character, very light bitterness, like an aged barleywine but fresh from the tanks

Flavor: flavor starts off rich and fruity with the dark caramel flavor yeilding to the fruity character, just enough gritty brown sugar sweetness to bring out the malt, light lingering bitter finish builds as you travel to the bottom of the glass
