PorterPounder (2851), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 26, 2005 On tap at the Brewpub in Atlanta. Light copper appearance, off-whit, fluffy, creamy head with good lacing. Sweet, enticing toofee, candy-like aroma. Flavor has some candied sugar notes, light citrus tints, some caramel. Good overall subtle bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Very good brewpub ESB. Good start to the evening.
BlackDonald (1039), North Carolina, USA Apr 6, 2008 Pours into an interesting amber shade just like a penny, not sure if that’s a color, but it could be. This is a textbook example of the style, dried fruit glazed over a earthy malt backbone, and a satisfying bitter bite in the finish. BigMilly8 (373), Holiday, Florida, USA Mar 2, 2008 From tap at brewpub : Clear pour, copper color. Comes with a finger of white head and big sticky lacing. Some fruity notes on the taste, also abit nutty. Medium body with a creamy feel. No real aftertaste at all. shp555 (1377), lilburn, Georgia, USA Feb 17, 2008 Cask:
Pours a brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is molasses, caramel, roast, and some hops. Flavor is malty, nutty, roasty, and a light bitter finish. Hank1980 (367), Athens, Georgia, USA Jan 27, 2008 Tasted at Cask Ale Tasting @ Sweetwater. Deep amber pour. Hoppy nose. Taste of sweet caramel and hops. Finishes hoppy. fro2218 (465), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 26, 2007 Earthy hoppy aroma with a citrus. Nice malty flavor and balnced bitterness. Could drink this beer all night. So I did.
