Generously shared by KP at Pre-Sex - thanks, dude! Deep brown pour but fairly clear, thin all the way with minimal carbonation. Mild and fairly indistinct aroma of dark fruits and hints of winter spice. Little of the depth and fullness of a good brune, though. Oxidized, thin, a bit meh.

Warm, lovely mahogany cherrywood color. Clear but deep. Tan head. Sweet malty nose and a matching body. Same yeast character as the other beers here, but it’s nice to have that juicy quality.

Appearance: Clear, medium reddish-brown body with a very thin, off-white head. Smell: Aroma smelling of dark malts, dark caramel, brown sugar, smooshed bananas, and a piquant spice note in the background. Taste: Dark maltiness presents a touch of roasted grains and mildly sweet tastes of dark caramel and brown sugar. Pinch of cocoa powder. Slight fruitiness. Nice peppery kick of grains of paradise spiciness ushers in a slight bitterness and a dry, earthy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Paired well with the defeat of the Philadelphia Eagles by the Arizona Cardinals and the Artisanal Cheese Plate.

Pours a cloudy, almost opaque mahogany with a fluffy tan head. Strong aroma has overtone of molasses and some good hints of hops. Lively flavor is sharp and malty with hints of caramel and both bitter and sweet ribbons through it. Texture and finish are smooth and pleasing.

Pretty walnut brownish color, with a tight off white bubbly head. Hints of fruit and spice in the aroma, predominantly nuts and dates. The palate has some great spiciness, a hint of yeasty characters in the form of cloves, and a bit of dark fruit in the finish. Lively carbonation and a satisfying mouthfeel, well balanced and smooth.

20071216 Bottle, 2005, shared at Madness with the Moose v.2. Plenty of estery Belgian yeast notes. Earthy hops, bag o’grain. A bit thin but could be a nice quaffer.
