Dark copper color, sweet aroma, caramel taste and a weir spicey aftertaste. I totally like this one.

kp’s Fest of 26. Thick, one finger head of tan over a hazy brown body. Caramel and Belgian yeast aroma. Lightly sweet, with a biscuity, fruity flavor. Nice one.

On tap at the brewpub on 4/6/06: Pours a dark mahogany brown with a frothy, nicely lacing light tan head. Sweet bready dark Belgian malty aroma has good caramel toffee notes. Palate is sweet and viscous full of Belgian malts and has a nice yeasty authenticity with a subtle earthy tartness toward a sweet finish. Nicely balanced and lightly complex with a slight black peppery spice.

1L bottle, dated 8-11-05: Pours a muddy dark copper mahogany with a large, forthy light tan head. Has a rich, sweet, malty, complex and authentic bready Belgian yeasty aroma. Body starts with a pleasant light malty sweetness, lots of bubbly carbonation some biscuity character, a touch of bubble gum and doughy yeast toward a sweet toasty caramel finish. Nicely balanced and true to style. An enjoyable brew!

On tap at the 5 Seasons (only 3 of 5 taps had beer that night). It was delivered to the table with a very slow to diminish off-white head that was sitting on top of a very dark brown brew. The aroma was very smoky. The taste was much of the same, but with some sweet malt tastes. The aftertaste was clean and dry.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt and dark fruits. Flavor of roasted malt, delicious banana, raisins, and a hint of fireworks fumes in the finish.

A red/brown pour with the aroma of sweet light brown sugared malt. A nice fruityish flavor but a dry and foamy finish and an off bitter that took a little something away from it for me.

Thank you, CaptainCougar for the 1L of this wonderful brew! #63/180 (8/11/05). Poured a deep, rich reddish-brown with a medium cap of yellowy-beige head. Spicy, rich malts, caramel, herbal hoppage, and a bit of earth grace the nose... quite enticing. Light and dark fruits pair with caramel and spicy malts for the flavor base... a little funky yeast and lemongrass emerged toward the back as this warmed up. Sticky, heavy, and chewy malts provide a heavier body to it. Very good beer!
