Appearance: brown with ruby highlights, thin tan head

much drier malt flavor, only a touch of sweetness, just too dry for a scotch ale, must be a mistake, a big drop for this usually fine ale

Name: Glenkevin Wee Heavy Scotch Ale

still dry, and now a bit thin, too, a touch of smokey peat character, the sweetness barely shows up at the end but it remains too thin

Dark amber and bright. Sweet, earthy aroma. Caramel flavour with a bit of peanut and a bit of herbal hop in the finish.

Pours a dark mahogany brown with a thin light tan head. Caramel malty aroma has a touch of green English hops and a hint of lager yeast. Starts sweet with nice subtle malty caramel flavor but it very thin and watery, especially toward the finish. It hides it’s alcohol well though, somehow, but could really use some more body.

1L bottle. Brown color not much head. Not much in way of carbonation. Smooth medium bodied. Aroma was malty and roasty but missing the smokiness. Flavors were somewhat roasty, sweet like brown sugar and malty.

Pours a medium amber- almost lighter than I expected a wee heavy to be, with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, raisin and a touch of smoke and roasted barley. Flavor was a bit weak as indicated by its lighter color, with some sugary sweetness, candied friuts, raisin and light caramel malts. Finish is slightly sweet and somewhat smooth but lacks a bit of body.

I’d like to thank Dennis for sharing a bottle of this stuff with me. Although not his finest work in my opinion (the best brewer I’ve tasted in Georgia), a well done Scotch Ale. Medium bodied, dark color with a medium sized head when poured from the swing top bottle. Light smokiness with a touch of peat and malt. I noticed a taste of wheat grass in this as well. Earthy, and light and way too drinkable at 7.5%.

Tap. Sweet bing cherry and malt aroma. Dark amber color with small head. Initially a moderate hops flavor followed by a very nice caramel and cherry flavor and a hint of smokiness. Has a nice hops finish. Very nicely blended on the fruity side.

Appearance: Dark walnut brown body with a thin, creamy off-white head and spotty lacing. Smell: The aroma is pretty puny with only a faint hint of peated malt and cherries. Taste: Predominately sweet malty flavor with a bit of smoky peat character. Slight maraschino cherry fruitiness. Only a faint, faint touch of hop bitterness on the altogether sweet finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Light stickiness. Drinkability: I found it to be somewhat reserved in its qualities for a scotch ale, but overall it was decent and easily drinkable.
