smcolw (310), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA Oct 24, 2009 Gold color with a very mild haze--nearly clear. Modest head but leaves very good lace on the glass.
Grainy smell of spent grains. There is a mild hop way in the background.
This is very close to a lawn mower beer, but not quite. The flavor is light and grainy, like the smell, but the hop is a bit more pronounced. I imagine this is the right beer for the uninitiated to brew pubs. Of the flight I had, this was my personal least-favorite. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 3, 2009 Tap at 5 Seasons Brewing Company. Poured a tan small head that mostly diminished, transparent body, visible carbonation, spotty amounts of lacing, and a golden hue. The aroma was bready, malty and sweet. The flavor was malty, sweet and thin tasting. Smooth mouthfeel and light bodied. Very easy to drink but lacks a lot of character and I was left unimpressed overall. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Sep 18, 2009 On tap. Poured gold and clear, with a thick head. Aroma is grainy, malty, and bready. Taste is somewhat similar with a little hops. Not much. Very clean, easy drinker. Not a bad brew. Good for the patrons that don’t enjoy other more aggressive brews. jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Mar 19, 2009 Gold pour with not much head. Aroma is almost nonexistent. Flavor is tame, but fresh and breadlike. Best mouthfeel I’ve ever had in this style though. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 4, 2009 Golden with a fairly thick head. Slightly bready, but overall mild aroma. Palate is bready and clean. It’s a fresh, refreshing brew. Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Feb 3, 2009 Clear golden, pale but bright, lots of lace. Fresh grain aroma is sweet and inviting. Clean sweet grain, slight hop kiss for balance. Very nice, solid, sessionable and true to style. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Feb 2, 2009 Tap. Pours a clear deep golden with a one finger white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of Vienna and sweet malt with a hint of floral hops in the finish. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and a crisp finish. Damn good ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Light, clear copper body with a half inch of creamy, white head.
Smell: Comparatively light aroma smelling of pale and pils maltiness with some sweetish hints.
Taste: Blend of pale, pils, and maybe a hint of bready malts as well. Decent amount of sweetness throughout. Spicy hops, though with a restrained bitterness, leaving you with a sweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Just barely medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s decent enough, but there are far better brews to be had here at 5 Seasons.
