Commercial Description:
A golden lager in the traditional Munich brewing style. This is what you find on tap in Bavaria instead of a Pilsener. With more malt character and less hop bitterness than a pilsener, our Helles is full flavored but crisp. Slightly lighter bodied than our Seven Sisters Münchner.

On tap at the Brewpub in Atlanta. Light golden pour with a crisp, clean white head. Good, thick lacing is left behind in the glass. Fresh lake water aroma, not too noticeable. Some sweet honey accents ini the flavor with some underlying bready cake-mix like maltiness. Thick enough mouthfeel. Overall, decent.

Draft at the brewery: Poured golden yellow with a medium white head. Light spice aroma with hints of banana and lemon. Mild sweet finish. Crisp and tasty.

Ratings go poof? Anyway this was a pretty standard beer. A crisp grassy and lemon flavor. A very herbal citrus aroma. Pretty standard stuff really. Good for hot weather but these guys do alot better.

Draft. Light gold/straw colored hue with fair variation and visible carbonation. Short, creamy, white head is short lived. Soft floral hops arive at the nose first followed by a delicate hay malt profile. There’s a hint of fruit (pears?) to go along. Solid, but not at the top of the style. Lightly sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish. Finishes dry and grainy without being astringent. Medium-light body, watery/soft texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: solid effort. Could use diversity in the aroma and flavor, but no real flaws.

Clear golden color with good head. This one has always had a very "off" aroma and flavor to me. Kind of sulfury, leaves a bad aftertasted. Not in line with beers in this style that I have had in Germany.

Just got back from Munich and this just was not true to the style. It missed the ballance of the Munich beers and a bit to much tang at the end. Sorry

Hazy pour, with some froth and fair lacing. The aroma s of hay, cereal and (mildly) sour milk. The flavor is very "grainy", almost like rye or wheat. The hops are there, and do an excellent job of keeping this honest and balanced. This is probably a little "toasty" for the style, but the taste is so fresh.
