BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 4, 2009 Mediocre as best, very faint nose, with some citrus cascade hoppiness and some caramel maltiness. Tastes tame and not at all what I expect from the quality of beer at 5 Seasons daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 2, 2009 Tap. Orangish pour, mostly white head. Citrus hops, caramel, orange zest, and some mango/passionfruit. Flavor is hoppy but also too malty. Its sessionable but not that great. Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Jul 11, 2009 On Tap. Poured hazy orange, with a slight off white head. Aroma is a little weak, with faint citrus hops, some caramel. Taste is similar. Some ctirus hops, some light malt. Not too exceptional. Finish is lightly bitter. Body is pretty average. Overall, an okay pale ale. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 1, 2009 Updated: Aug 9, 2009On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a very hazy brownish orange with a solid creamy off-white head that recedes slowly to a collar and leaves spotty lacing.
The aroma is very light for the style and has as much malty sweetness as hops. The hops are in the form of light citrus, especially oranges, with some grassy floral notes.
The taste is also very mild and balanced with the sweetness of the caramel malt backbone carrying as much weight as the hops. The finish is clean and slightly bitter with grassy hops.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with low, soft carbonation and fairly crisp in the finish, though not that bitter.
This is an extremely drinkable beer and I got through the pint way too fast. That said, it’s very subdued for the style with the flavors being light but well balanced. An extremely good session beer. jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Jun 26, 2009 Pours very cloudy brownish gold. The aroma is very nice - grassy hops. The flavor is bready with malts with a very odd, grassy hop character with subtle citrus (tangerine?). Finish has some hop bitterness and is well balanced. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with subtle hop astringency. Overall, not bad but a little odd. I guess I was hoping for something more traditional - be it traditional American pale ale or traditional English pale ale... pintocb (508), Darsville, Georgia, USA Apr 11, 2009 Copper. Hoppy aroma. Love the citrus. Medium body. Sweeter backbone.....probably the english malt. Good pale ale. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 6, 2009 Hazy reddish amber, nice thick head and lacing. Bright piney hop aroma is foresty and earthy. Low carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Spicy and earthy body. Thin in finish. Nice leafy hop offers decent bitterness. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 6, 2009 Murky amber. Thick head. Dense, floral dry hop aroma. Good toasty, caramel malts with fruity, citrusy hop accents. Somewhat yeasty in the finish.
