| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Murky amber. Thick head. Dense, floral dry hop aroma. Good toasty, caramel malts with fruity, citrusy hop accents. Somewhat yeasty in the finish. ChainGangGuy (2580), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA

Smell: Malts smelling lightly of cracked English toffee and dry biscuits enveloped by a grassy hop character.
Taste: English-minded maltiness with a hint of toffee and less than a hint of sweetness. Takes on a more biscuity quality upon warming. Grassy, earthy hops with a medium bitterness. Finishes decidedly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: I’ve had different renditions of the BR-549 Pale Ale, and, for me, I must admit I preferred the more maltier, somewhat sweeter versions we saw early on.
5 Seasons Westside 9/22:
Why, it’s been a coon’s age since I’ve last had this one!
Appearance: Lightly hazed, dark amber body with a thinnish, sudsy, white head.
Smell: With a whiff, a scent of spicy, grassy hops with a lesser degree of muted citrus hits the nose followed by malty tones of toasted biscuits and dry caramel.
Taste: Ah, Maris Otter, the specialty malt the really makes a pale ale sizzle with its bumped up bready, biscuity richness. Lightly sweet hints of caramel. Hops are earthy, faintly citrusy, but display a nice herbaceous grassiness. Medium-light bitterness. The beer dries out substantially on the back half, in plenty of time for the lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Fairly soft mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A beer with good levels of maltiness and hoppiness and overall drinkability - just as a good pale ale should be. unclemattie (2422), Georgia, USA

Pours hazy dark copper orange. Stiff white head.
Earthy woody hop aroma. Some dry biscuit malts aromas
Lots of earthy hops. Some citrus and herbs as well. Again with the biscuit.
Kind of a typical body and mouthfeel. Light body and refreshing.
Yeppers, its a pale ale. jhumphries69 (729), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Pours very cloudy brownish gold. The aroma is very nice - grassy hops. The flavor is bready with malts with a very odd, grassy hop character with subtle citrus (tangerine?). Finish has some hop bitterness and is well balanced. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with subtle hop astringency. Overall, not bad but a little odd. I guess I was hoping for something more traditional - be it traditional American pale ale or traditional English pale ale... pintocb (511), Darsville, Georgia, USA
