Jul 21, 2008 Smells an awful lot like an oatmeal cookie. The cherries aren’t big in the aroma but there’s a spice-like note and the molasses create this resemblence. I’m not getting much smoke in aroma or flavor though. Cherries come through in the flavor as a fruity tartness. Flavor is outmatched by the aroma.

Jul 21, 2008 cask. Opaque brown, with the slightest red hue. žinch head of thick cream floating on the surface, tan with a light tinge of pink. Aroma of toasted malt, some molasses. Flavor is wow! Big tart fruit on the first sip. Lots of chocolate on the palate, toasted malt, coffee, molasess. Light smoke and fresh cherried in the finish. One of the best and most unique porters ever made.
