ChainGangGuy (1602), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Aug 26, 2007 Appearance: Pours a darkened brown body with garnet-hued edges and a thin beige head.
Smell: Mild, malty aroma with a nice fruitiness and hints of warmed Zeeuwsche Boerin syrup (just trust me on that last one).
Taste: Dark candy sugar sweetness rounded out by a distinct raisiny fruitiness, a faint hint of chocolate, and a light spiciness. All the while there’s a mild tartness to it. Finishes semi-sweet with a zip from the alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Light carbonation. Delightfully warming. Slight stickiness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Purportedly brewed with raisins, quinoa and rosemary. Without a doubt, I picked up on the raisins, but totally dropped the ball on the rosemary and quinoa (which I’ve always found to be rather bland).

unclemattie (1620), Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2007 Tap at the 5SN. DARK! I did not expect a beer this dark. Tons of dark fruits, sweetness, and goodness. Hints of rosemary are definitly in this extremely dense flavored Belgian Ale. This is the Best Belgian Style Ale ever! It jazzed my rocks. colemgm8 (386), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Aug 14, 2007 on tap at 5 season north. very strong sense and taste of banana. dark red color ... small head. Kind of thin for a belgian ale... could be better... but still tasty. PorterPounder (2851), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2007 On tap at the brewpub in Alpharetta. Dark copper pour, thin, of white head. Sweet, malty aroma, hints of candied sugar. Flavor has some sweet sugary notes as well, hints of dates, some chocolate.
