Commercial Description:
Brewed with European Pilsner malt, German wheat malt and a hefty dose of turbinado sugar in the kettle, this beer clocks in at a hefty 9.14% abv. Despite its strength it has a dry finish and is very drinkable. The traditional Belgian yeast packs this beer with tropical fruit flavors, a mysterious earthiness and an inviting spiciness. In addition, we added grains of paradise, coriander and the peels of fresh clementines. Phil Farrell - a local homebrewer and beer freak – brewed this with me for a “pro-am” competition.

Enjoyed at the Fall Beer Dinner held at 5 Seasons North. Appearance: Pours a hazed orange body with a creamy white head. Why, it looks just a Dreamsicle! Smell: Rustic, sweet-smelling aroma of wheat malts, spiced caramel candy, and fresh orange peel. Taste: Soft wheat bread flavor and sweetness arrives alongside a tart, tropical-minded fruitiness. Hardly any hops, but instead the spice helps to temper the sweetness. There’s a bit of an alcohol kick on the sweet-tart finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Very mild carbonation. Drinkability: A nice saison, albeit a very different kind of saison.

Sweet caramel Belgian aroma - lots of yeast and malt. Mildy phonolic, tart, medium bitter. Sour, wood-pepper finish. Medium body. A nice warmer on a dank evening. Did well with the Parmesan Chicken.

Pours hazy orange with a fine white head. Sweet malt with some spice in the aroma. Smooth bodied, slightly sweet overall flavor. Not as dry as many Saisons are, but extremely drinkable.

The End of the Chicken. Cask. Hazy, deep golden orange. Foamy, white head. Aroma of heavy dough fresh out of a proof box. Bready, yeasty, & dry ... like an Orval. Flavor is of heavy bread dough. Slight citrus (orange?) essence. Very balanced palate. Heavy bodied. A+
