CaptainCougar (4664), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 17, 2007 Pours a hazy, murky mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and bready wheat with lots of bubble gum and banana esters. Starts fairly full bodied with good, full malted wheaty and toasted caramel sweetness along with some earthy clove bitterness and a faint hint of tartness toward a doughy finish. A nice and fairly authentic weizenbock.

unclemattie (1621), Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2007 (My 60th Georgia Rating!!) Deep Purple color. Huge Banana aromas!! Flavors include some tangy wheat and tons of malt and caramel, with hints of spice. Heavenly! I love the Weizen Bock! ChainGangGuy (1602), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2007 Appearance: Pours a hazy brown body with a thin, off-white head.
Smell: Rich malty aroma of caramel and dark brown sugar. Plenty of spice, bananas, and bubblegum, too. Actually, good gracious, is the bubblegum especially strong in the aroma.
Taste: The taste of sweet malted wheat and caramel, along with the light spicing and banana notes really give the impression of banana bread. Finishes relatively sweet, but with a slight sour note right on the tailend.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Fairly smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: A lovely weizen bock that would be even nicer served up in the cooler months.
