Cloudy amber beer, thin head, weak aroma with hints of ginger and spicy hops. Texture is like light syrup. Flavor is sweet and has an apple aftertaste. There is a medium stength bite and a burn on the backend.

On tap at flying saucer. Pours a cloudy amber with a small creamy white head that leaces good sticky lacing. The aroma is a dark fruity malt with clove and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a dry malt with raisin and clove with a nice dry finish. Hides the alcohol well making it very easy to drink. A very good belgian strong ale from (512).

(Growler thanks to fratto) Pours clear brown with no head but some oily bubbles. Nose of dark fruit and banana. Taste is ripened banana, coriander and nicely sweet. Some alcohol on the finish but overall this is great.

Tap at Flying Saucer Austin. Cloudy, pale yellow. Nose is sweet and yeasty. Taste is a bit hoppy, spicy, sweet, and yeasty. A bit sweet for me. Thinnish body. Not bad but I could only drink one of these at a sitting.

On draught at the Draught House a couple of months ago. Nice aroma of fruit and malt (thank you Forbidden Fruit yeast!!)! It doesn’t taste like 8% so it goes down easy. Nice Belgian characteristics all-around. I’d drink another...or three.

Growler thanks to Fratto. the look is clear, with a beige colored head. The smell is belgian, spices, fruits, and basic for the style. The taste is fruits, some bitterness, belgian, yeast, and sweet.

Served by Rebecca at Flying Saucer in Austin.  Xander tagging along. So this is their anniversary saison!  Cloudy amber, looks tasty!  Middle is dark and brownish, top/bottom (thinner) is more orange.  Thin, soapy head.  Aroma of yeast and soap.  Flavor... lot like a homebrew, what you taste when you get a mouthful while siphoning.  Not very lively in the mouth, a liitle flat.  Subdued, muddy palate.  Easy to drink, that’s for certain. Nice lacing though.   Smells like a brewpub beer, tastes like a homebrew.  Further drinks taste surprisingly sweet.  Nice balance. Nothing worse (almost) than an oversweetened saison. Additional sips taste increasingly more Belgian.

GABF 2009. Pours clear light orange with an average, fizzy white head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), average hop (herbs, grass), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of apple, allspice, and ginger. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
